General Pipeline - FullStack Applied AI Engineer
Job description
General Pipeline - FullStack Applied AI Engineer at Infinity Constellation.
About the role
You will own the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered products and platforms from initial discovery through production deployment and iteration. You will translate ambiguous client or internal ideas into working software by designing, prototyping, and shipping solutions across the stack. You will operate at the intersection of applied AI, full-stack engineering, and product thinking to turn complex requirements into scalable systems. You will make pragmatic technical tradeoffs and prioritize outcomes over rigid adherence to initial plans. You will collaborate closely with founders, product leaders, and other builders to unblock progress and accelerate delivery. You will contribute back to shared infrastructure, internal libraries, and platform tools that serve the broader Infinity Constellation ecosystem.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Build and ship full-stack, AI-native products, internal platforms, prototypes, and production applications that solve real business problems.
- Design and implement agentic AI applications, LLM workflows, RAG systems, document-processing pipelines, and other applied AI solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Translate ambiguous business, product, or client needs into scalable technical systems with clear architecture and defined interfaces.
- Build modern frontend experiences using frameworks such as React and Next.js to create responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
- Develop backend systems and APIs using Python, Node.js, FastAPI, Django, or similar technologies to support robust and maintainable services.
- Design data models and work across relational, graph, vector, and hybrid database architectures to support diverse AI workloads.
- Integrate commercial APIs, open-source models, automation platforms, and third-party tools to create leverage and accelerate execution.
- Build asynchronous workflows, internal dashboards, admin tools, approval systems, and automation infrastructure that enable efficient operations.
- Experiment quickly across frameworks and technologies while knowing when to optimize for speed versus long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Contribute to shared internal libraries, Infinity Commons, and Gravity, our software factory platform to improve developer velocity across teams.
- Collaborate directly with founders, product leaders, senior engineers, and, in some cases, clients to define problems, validate solutions, and ship outcomes.
- Occasionally embed with an Infinity company or client team to support launches, unblock execution, or build zero-to-one products under tight timelines.
- Rapidly prototype new product ideas to validate hypotheses and de-risk concepts before committing to large-scale builds.
- Own production systems through monitoring, debugging, and iterative improvement to ensure reliability and performance in real-world usage.
Requirements
- Experience and comfort working directly with stakeholders and customers to translate business problems into working solutions without needing a fully specified brief.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping real products used by real users in production environments.
- Fluency in Python and demonstrated experience building AI-powered applications, workflows, or systems that leverage modern AI techniques.
- Full-stack development experience with modern web technologies such as React, Next.js, Node.js, FastAPI, Django, or equivalent frameworks and libraries.
- Experience rapidly building and iterating on prototypes, proof-of-concepts, MVPs, or zero-to-one products in fast-paced and resource-constrained settings.
- Practical experience working with LLMs, AI APIs, and agent frameworks, including demonstrating your ability to measure the quality and performance of these systems objectively.
- Comfort integrating APIs, cloud services, databases, open-source tools, and automation platforms to compose solutions that are maintainable and extensible.
- Strong systems thinking and an ability to design solutions that can evolve without introducing unnecessary complexity or technical debt.
- The ability to translate non-technical, product, or client requirements into pragmatic technical solutions that balance speed, cost, and risk.
- Comfort working in ambiguity, making tradeoffs, and taking ownership of outcomes even when requirements are not perfectly defined from the start.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across distributed teams.
- Willingness to learn and apply new tools, frameworks, and domains quickly as the Infinity Constellation portfolio expands and evolves.
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and testable code that can be understood and extended by other engineers.
- Ability to prioritize work based on impact, dependencies, and constraints while maintaining a bias toward shipping functional solutions.
