Senior Full Stack Engineer - Industrial Sustainability Reporting Platform
Job description
Senior Full Stack Engineer - Industrial Sustainability Reporting Platform at IFS.
About the role
In this role, you define the API surface and user workflows that power industrial decarbonization initiatives. You will ship AI features designed to handle complex ESG data intake, validation, and planning workflows. You own the reliability and performance of production services used by global customers on a daily basis. You translate evolving customer needs into robust technical solutions that scale across regions and industries. You ensure that sustainability platforms remain accessible, efficient, and intuitive for a wide range of users. You act as a technical owner, guiding systems from initial design through long-term operation and evolution. You contribute to a culture where clean architecture, automated testing, and observability are standard practice.
Key facts
What you'll do
Designing scalable API structures and accessibility-first interfaces for sustainability platforms that serve industrial customers.
Building event-driven components that process carbon accounting data, operational metrics, and related time-series information.
Setting telemetry standards, SLOs, and error budgets to guide continuous service improvements and reliability targets.
Automating CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to ensure reliable, repeatable application operations in production.
Partnering with Platform Engineering teams to align on shared services, integration patterns, and product delivery strategies.
Guiding product decisions by translating customer pain points, use cases, and feedback into clear technical requirements.
Auditing architecture for performance risks, bottlenecks, and data flow issues across distributed processing pipelines.
Championing code quality, end-to-end documentation, and automated testing to ensure production readiness and maintainability.
Requirements
You must have extensive full stack software engineering experience that spans both front-end user interfaces and back-end services.
You must know modern front-end frameworks, especially React or similar interface libraries, and understand component design patterns.
You must bring strong back-end engineering skills, including experience with GoLang or other comparable high-performance languages.
You must have designed, built, and operated scalable APIs, services, and cloud-native systems in production environments.
You must understand DevOps practices deeply, including CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and structured incident response processes.
You must have a track record of delivering secure, observable, high-quality production software focused on industrial and enterprise use cases.
You must focus intensely on code quality, testing discipline, documentation clarity, performance efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
You must lead technical design conversations, challenge assumptions, and influence architectural choices across teams.
You must collaborate effectively with Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams to align on goals and delivery plans.
You must take full ownership of outcomes, from initial design decisions through deployment, operation, and ongoing optimization.
Nice to have
Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and with infrastructure-as-code approaches.
Experience with event-driven architectures, distributed systems, or microservices patterns and implementations.
Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and with query optimization strategies.
Experience working in cross-functional product teams and navigating ambiguous, evolving requirements.
Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and contributing to internal engineering standards and practices.
Experience with AI-enabled, data-intensive, sustainability, carbon intelligence, ESG reporting, or enterprise SaaS products and workflows.
Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and standards such as GHG Protocol, CSRD, SBTi, and related reporting regimes.
Familiarity with observability, reliability engineering, SLOs, error budgets, and production incident management practices.
What We're Looking For
