What you'll do
Design secure client storage for credentials on mobile hardware.
Build wallet interactions that guide users through Verifiable Credentials.
Coordinate with security experts to harden key handling and binding.
Implement support for W3C Verifiable Credentials and ISO mobile driver standards.
Partner with product teams to define onboarding journeys for new credential types.
Ship reliable release trains for web and native wallet clients.
Test edge cases in credential presentation to keep integrations dependable.
Collaborate with platform teams to align wallet behavior across services.
Requirements
You hold hands-on experience with iOS or Android native development.
You can architect client-side flows that protect private keys and tokens.
You understand digital credential formats and verification lifecycle details.
You communicate clearly with security, identity, and product stakeholders.
You thrive in environments where correctness affects user trust.
Nice to have
Experience with FIDO2, passkeys, and secure element interactions.
Skills & tools
JavaScript, Swift, Kotlin, HTML, JSON, REST, Git, CI pipelines.
Practical notes
This role is on-site in Mountain View five days per week; travel is not required. Visa sponsorship is not mentioned; roles requiring authorization may have constraints.

Work model
ID.me is a full-time, in-office culture. Unless a specific job description explicitly states otherwise, all roles are on-site five days per week at one of our offices in McLean Virginia; Mountain View California; New York City New York; or Tampa Florida. Certain roles such as field-based sales or other remote-by-design positions may have different work arrangements as noted in their individual postings.

Role scope and impact
The Wallet Authentication Platform team invests heavily in next-generation wallet capabilities including W3C Verifiable Credentials, ISO 18013-5 mobile driver licenses, passkeys, and cryptographically-bound credentials secured by device hardware. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will operate with a high degree of independence, designing and shipping features across iOS, Android, and or web wallet clients while partnering closely with Platform Security Identity and Product to ensure our credential issuance and presentation flows meet the highest bar for usability, interoperability, and security. This position will work from our Mountain View California office five days per week.
