About the role

ID.me is rebuilding its procurement and vendor management function as a lean, AI-augmented operating model. We have already delivered millions in annualized COGS and OPEX efficiencies through strategic vendor renegotiations, and we are now extending that same rigor across the full vendor portfolio proactively, continuously, and at scale. This is a builder's role, not a process role. You will be the second human in a function designed to run on modern tooling and AI agents, working directly with the Strategic Vendor Management leader to deliver outcomes that traditionally required a much larger team. If you are the kind of operator who looks at a tail of 100 vendors and thinks "I can find $XM in this," and you are equally comfortable planning and executing a negotiation strategy as configuring a workflow in a Procurement Tooling system, this role is tailor made for you. You will own proactive coverage of the vendor portfolio outside the largest strategic relationships, driving consolidation, eliminating duplicative spend, renegotiating mid-tier contracts, and running the operational backbone of the function so that procurement at ID.me is materially more efficient than peer companies at our scale.

What you'll do

Drive value across the vendor tail by independently identifying, prioritizing, and executing renegotiations across mid-tier vendors while bringing quantified savings, term improvements, and risk reduction to every renewal cycle. Eliminate duplicative spend by hunting across the SaaS and technology portfolio for overlapping tools, dormant licenses, and consolidation opportunities, then building the business case, running cross-functional alignment, and executing the consolidation. Onboard, evaluate, and offboard vendors through structured processes, running vendor selection for new technology, coordinating POCs, structuring pilots, capturing performance data, and making sourcing recommendations grounded in data. Operate the procurement system of record by owning day-to-day administration and continuous improvement of Procurement Tools, including intake configuration, approval workflows, vendor records, renewal calendars, and audit trails, recognizing that the system you operate is the function's leverage. Run the AI agent layer by configuring, monitoring, and improving the AI agents that handle intake triage, renewal monitoring, contract review, and anomaly detection, ensuring you make these operators sharper over time without building the agents from scratch. Partner cross-functionally by working directly with FP&A, Legal, GRC/Risk, InfoSec, Privacy, and business owners across the company, understanding that procurement at ID.me succeeds because it accelerates other functions, not because it gatekeeps them. Manage risk and compliance within procurement activities, aligning with GRC and InfoSec to ensure vendor relationships meet security, privacy, and regulatory standards while enabling efficient business operations. Optimize spend analytics and vendor performance, using data to identify trends, forecast spend, and recommend actions that improve cost efficiency and strategic alignment across the vendor ecosystem. Own process discipline and documentation, ensuring that procurement workflows, policies, and playbooks are clear, maintained, and followed to support scalability and audit readiness. Contribute to continuous improvement of the procurement function by proposing and testing new tools, methodologies, and practices that increase efficiency and effectiveness in a high-growth technology environment.

Requirements

5+ years in procurement, vendor management, FP&A operations with vendor facing experience, consulting, or a closely adjacent operations role, where title and tenure matter less than what you have actually delivered. A track record of negotiated outcomes you can speak to specifically, describing what the situation was, what you did, and the savings or improvements achieved. Genuine comfort with modern AI tools as part of day-to-day work, including prompting LLMs to accelerate research and drafting, using AI features inside procurement and contract tools, and identifying where AI can replace manual effort, which is non-negotiable for this role. Strong systems instincts demonstrated by having implemented or significantly improved procurement, finance, or operations tooling such as Ramp, Coupa, Zip, Tropic, Spendflo, Ironclad, NetSuite, or similar, and seeing workflows as configurable systems rather than fixed processes. Cross-functional operator orientation with comfort leading conversations with stakeholders at levels above your own to rationalize tool consolidation and process changes, remaining diplomatic but not deferential. Ownership, mastery, and confidence to own relationships with business partners across the organization and explain the product and its value to C-Suite contract approvers at a level of detail and clarity that supports informed decision-making. Bias to action with autonomy, treating given freedom as fuel rather than ambiguity, and delivering results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities can shift quickly.
