You will own the development and execution of AI implementation strategies within construction and AEC client environments. You will translate complex technical capabilities into practical, field-ready workflows that project teams can adopt immediately. You will serve as the primary liaison between our product teams and real-world jobsites, ensuring every solution is grounded in practitioner reality. You will capture tacit expert knowledge from superintendents and project managers and convert it into structured datasets and training materials. You will evaluate emerging AI tools against actual construction constraints and document where they create genuine value versus theoretical benefit. You will coach teams through hands-on sessions that demonstrate measurable time savings and risk reduction on active projects. You will synthesize field observations into strategic recommendations that shape our product roadmap and venture studio investment theses.

What you'll do

• Conduct structured job shadowing sessions with project engineers, project managers, and superintendents across healthcare, industrial, data center, and commercial project types to map daily workflows and identify friction points.
• Extract and codify undocumented expert knowledge from experienced construction professionals, transforming on-the-job insights into reusable institutional assets.
• Synthesize field observations into actionable briefs for Human Agency's venture studio and product teams, directly informing solution priorities and investment focus areas.
• Build and maintain a dynamic knowledge base that tracks construction workflows, persistent pain points, and technology gaps across our design-build partner project portfolios.
• Identify systemic patterns observed across multiple jobsites that highlight high-leverage opportunities for technology intervention or process improvement.
• Maintain comprehensive awareness of the construction technology landscape, including platforms, startups, and emerging capabilities relevant to field operations.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as autonomous heavy equipment, reality capture systems, AI-assisted estimating tools, and next-generation project management platforms against real-world jobsite requirements.
• Conduct technology fit assessments that determine where specific tools can generate actual value in field workflows versus where they would remain shelfware.
• Provide practitioner-informed briefings to Human Agency and client leadership on contech trends, investment-worthy companies, and technology bets that reflect real operational constraints.
• Contribute directly to Human Agency's venture studio thesis by defining where the AEC industry is heading and which technology gaps represent genuine market opportunities.
• Enable construction teams to understand and adopt AI-assisted workflows developed for submittals, change order management, RFP assessment, meeting synthesis, and quality knowledge capture.
• Deliver hands-on coaching sessions tailored to specific roles and project types, translating AI capabilities into practical construction language that saves time and reduces rework.
• Identify high-leverage AI use cases for specific positions and project delivery types based on direct observation of field workflows and pain points.
• Serve as the credible, trusted voice on AI and technology adoption for field teams by demonstrating deep understanding of their daily work realities.
• Surface adoption barriers, user friction, and workflow mismatches back to product teams so tools can be refined based on actual usage data and feedback.

Requirements

• Possess construction industry experience spanning a minimum of three years with substantial time spent on or around active jobsites.
• Demonstrate familiarity with how construction is theoretically planned versus how it actually executes in real-world conditions.
• Maintain deep fluency with the construction technology landscape, including platforms, players, funding activity, and capability gaps.
• Exhibit AI literacy that extends beyond basic usage to include workflow automation, process optimization, and tool implementation.
• Communicate effectively across diverse audiences, moving between hands-on field discussions and executive-level technology strategy presentations.
• Accept frequent travel covering 60-80% of work time to jobsites distributed across the United States throughout the year.
• Establish natural credibility and respect among construction professionals based on genuine understanding of trade workflows and constraints.
• Operate comfortably within fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities evolve rapidly and documentation may be minimal.
• Demonstrate ownership mentality where you proactively identify problems, propose solutions, and follow through on commitments without constant supervision.
