Analytics Engineer (LatAm)
Job description
About the role
Homeward takes the "what ifs" out of homebuying by creating financial products that give buyers and sellers certainty and convenience. We're a fast-paced, remote-first real estate startup that partners with real estate agents to offer innovative products and services, helping clients buy with cash, sell with certainty, and time their move, regardless of the market. We're a fully remote company with a diverse team spread across several countries
Grounded in three core values: The Golden Rule, One Team One Dream, and Calm Focus. We believe in building solutions that last and that our people are the foundation of that durability. This role gives you the opportunity to directly influence how we turn complex data challenges into simple, reliable outcomes for our customers. You will be expected to act with ownership, challenge the status quo, and bring clarity to ambiguous problems. If you thrive in an environment where data drives decisions and reliability is non-negotiable, this is the place for you.
Key facts
What you'll do
Own the health and reliability of our data pipelines, proactively identifying issues and implementing durable solutions to prevent ingestion failures and downstream disruptions.
Design, develop, test, and optimize scalable dimensional data models and data marts using dbt.
Structure data models around abstract business definitions, creating a reliable connection between business logic and technical implementation.
Help architect our data environment for AI-readiness, ensuring data is structured, documented, governed, and accessible in ways that support emerging AI use cases.
Evaluate and implement tooling and validation processes to ensure dbt models and AI-enabled data workflows produce accurate and trustworthy outputs.
Partner closely with Product and Technology teams on internal application and system changes, identifying upstream and downstream data dependencies and minimizing disruption.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate them into scalable solutions within our analytics platform.
Develop deep domain expertise across key areas of Homeward's business and serve as a technical point of contact for associated data models, metrics, and workflows.
Establish monitoring, testing, documentation, and data-quality practices that improve confidence in our data.
Identify opportunities to improve our overall data architecture and recommend practical solutions rather than waiting for requirements to be fully defined.
Leverage version control and automation to ensure data pipeline changes are repeatable, auditable, and resilient.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data definitions, ensuring alignment between analytics, operations, and executive reporting.
Champion data observability and incident response, reducing time to resolution when issues arise.
Drive continuous improvement by analyzing metrics, gathering feedback, and evolving the analytics stack to meet growing business demands.
Contribute to technical design discussions, balancing short-term needs with long-term scalability and maintainability.
Requirements
Strong experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or business intelligence roles with a proven track record of delivering reliable data products.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and dimensional data modeling, with demonstrated experience designing scalable analytical datasets that support complex business logic.
Hands-on experience with modern data tools, including but not limited to dbt, and familiarity with orchestration frameworks used in data pipelines.
Ability to diagnose pipeline failures, determine root causes, and implement fixes that prevent recurrence at scale.
Comfortable working in a fully remote, asynchronous-first environment where written communication is clear and concise.
Self-motivated with strong ownership, capable of managing priorities and making sound decisions with limited direct supervision.
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing, monitoring, and documenting data processes and definitions.
Eligibility to work remotely from a Latin American country and compliance with local employment regulations as they apply to the role.
Practical notes
This role is based fully remotely within Latin America. It is not eligible for U.S. visa sponsorship or relocation. The position is structured as a long-term contract, aligning with our current hiring needs and team distribution.
