Hochiki is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Ho Chi Minh, specifically in Thu Duc City. What you'll do

• Develop and refine design specifications for fire safety products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to translate customer requirements into functional design solutions.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed engineering drawings and models that accurately represent product designs.
• Conduct simulations and analyses to validate design concepts and assess performance under various conditions.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance product development processes.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and can be produced efficiently.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including design reports, user manuals, and installation guides.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into product designs.
• Troubleshoot design issues and provide timely solutions to ensure project timelines are met.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices in design engineering.
• Engage with customers to gather feedback on product performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Support the testing and validation of prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications and safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering, preferably within the fire safety or related industries.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and design methodologies.
• Experience with product development processes, from concept through to production.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with fire safety systems and relevant industry standards (e.g., NFPA, UL).
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards in the engineering field.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, providing technical support or product training.
• Certification in relevant engineering disciplines or project management (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma).

Skills & tools

• Familiarity with simulation software for performance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and design validation.
• Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
