Key facts

What you'll do

• Oversee and direct a portfolio of legal disputes, developing and implementing strategies in conjunction with internal teams.
• Act on behalf of the company in matters such as regulatory investigations, subpoenas, and information requests from third parties.
• Direct and manage external legal counsel for complex litigation, providing strategic direction and coordinating information gathering.
• Offer counsel and support to internal departments on litigation-related issues, including risk evaluation and preventative measures.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining the company's procedures for discovery and litigation holds.
• Report on litigation developments to management, working with senior legal staff.
• Maintain relationships with insurance providers and other relevant external parties.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and a current, active law license in at least one U.S. state.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, gained either at a prominent law firm or within an in-house legal department.
• Demonstrated proficiency in legal writing and oral advocacy, including strong skills in drafting litigation documents.
• Proven experience in managing and resolving litigation cases.
• Capacity to think critically and manage a demanding workload with evolving priorities while meeting critical deadlines.
• A proactive, self-directed approach combined with a collaborative spirit and a positive outlook.
• Strong negotiation abilities, sound judgment, and clear communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
