Manager, International Accounting at hims-and-hers
About the role
This position will oversee accounting operations for a recently acquired international business. You will ensure accurate financial reporting under US GAAP and support the company's global expansion efforts.

What you'll do
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks for the international subsidiary, ensuring precision and promptness.
- Lead the month-end closing procedures, including reviewing account reconciliations, posting journal entries, and consolidating financial data.
- Scrutinize the work of team members, identifying and rectifying any inaccuracies while improving processes.
- Verify intercompany transactions and eliminations between different company entities.
- Assist the local accounting team in Australia with preparing statutory financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.
- Maintain and update accounting documentation, policies, and internal controls.
- Take ownership of assigned Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) key controls and ensure their effective execution.
- Provide direction and training to team members supporting both US GAAP and local accounting standards.
- Contribute to due diligence and integration activities for new market entries.
- Drive process improvements and system enhancements to boost efficiency and accuracy.
- Build strong working relationships with internal departments to deliver requests and projects on time.
- Act as a primary contact for international accounting matters, facilitating clear communication and issue resolution.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a preference for Big-4 firm background.
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, with exposure to IFRS or other international accounting principles being highly desirable.
- A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or active pursuit of CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing international entities and working with multiple currencies.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems; NetSuite experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication capabilities.
- Excellent critical thinking, organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, high-growth setting.
- Prior experience in a publicly traded company and with SOX compliance is preferred.
