About the role

The College Pathways Coordinator serves as a central point of contact for post-secondary institutions and students, owning the end-to-end management of concurrent enrollment initiatives. This role requires the hire to act as a liaison ensuring policy alignment and seamless implementation across high school and college partners. You will design and develop orientation and support processes tailored to the needs of concurrent enrollment participants. The position demands regular communication with all stakeholders to clarify program policies and provide timely updates. Additionally, the hire will maintain robust data tracking systems to monitor enrollment and academic progress. You will utilize PDSA cycles to participate in program evaluation and identify opportunities for growth. Finally, this role involves facilitating access to college resources specifically designed for underrepresented populations.

What you'll do

• Serve as a liaison with post-secondary institutions to ensure alignment of concurrent enrollment programs and policies.
• Support students in the concurrent enrollment process, including managing applications, registration, and course scheduling.
• Develop and implement orientation and support processes to ensure the success of concurrent enrollment students.
• Communicate regularly with concurrent enrollment students, parents, high school and college faculty, and other stakeholders to provide updates on program policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate data tracking systems for concurrent enrollment students, including enrollment data, academic progress, and completion rates.
• Participate in program evaluation and assessment to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for program growth.
• Facilitate access to college resources and opportunities geared toward assisting underrepresented populations.
• Offer guidance to students throughout the financial aid process.
• Support junior/senior level college counseling teachers with lesson planning and execution.
• Provide college counseling coaching support to the junior/senior counselors as they prepare students for college access and success in higher education.
• Participate in bi-weekly meetings as a member of the College & Career Access Team which utilizes PDSA cycles to track and identify students who require additional support.
• Assist in the organization of family engagement workshops related to college access goals.
• Support in the maintenance of student data progress and share regularly with the Director of College Advising.
• Assist Director of College Advising in planning and coordinating parent nights, college visits, guest speakers, career exploration trips, and other college and career access programming.
• Become familiar with the various technology platforms that support the college & career access work: Scoir, Powerschool, and the primary on-line applications-UC, CSU, and Community College applications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
• Knowledge of higher education policies, procedures, and practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with data tracking and analysis to inform program improvement.
• Familiarity with student success strategies and support services for underrepresented students.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Eligibility to work in the United States is required; authorization documents must be provided at the time of hire.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Practical notes

This is an hourly classified position operating between 15 and 20 hours per week. The compensation rate is placed within the Hourly Framework at Step 3, Level A-K, ranging from $29.30 to $35.73 per hour, with placement determined by verified experience. This position is not eligible for benefits. The role is based in-person at the San Diego County campus in Point Loma, California.
