About the role
The People Operations Coordinator role at Helion is a critical position designed to ensure the employee experience remains seamless and effective as the company advances toward building the world's first fusion power plant. This is a 6-month contract with the opportunity for extension and is based onsite at our Everett, WA office. You will work directly with the People Operations team, maintaining the integrity and scalability of core People systems and processes. Success in this role requires urgency, rigor, and a commitment to delivering hard truths, all in service of supporting Helion's mission to enable a future with unlimited clean electricity for everyone.
What you'll do
At Helion, you will play a key role in supporting the employee experience while ensuring our People systems and processes scale with the company. You'll partner with the greater People Ops team to keep core programs running smoothly, maintain data integrity, and help build a strong foundation for growth. This is an onsite role at our Everett, WA office.
- Partner with the People Operations team to support initiatives and programs that enhance the employee experience across the employee lifecycle.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees, responding to questions related to systems or processes with care, professionalism, and timely follow-through.
- Maintain employee records and reporting requirements, ensuring compliance, confidentiality, and data integrity in all administrative tasks.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve processes, and enhance operational effectiveness as the company scales and evolves.
- Coordinate logistical support for People-led initiatives, events, and programs to ensure seamless execution and positive participant experiences.
- Act as a liaison between employees and People Operations, facilitating clear communication and resolving inquiries with empathy and accuracy.
- Update and maintain core HRIS and People databases, ensuring records are accurate, current, and aligned with company standards.
- Monitor and report on key People metrics to support data-driven decisions and continuous improvement in HR operations.
- Support the administration of employee surveys and feedback programs, summarizing insights and contributing to action planning.
- Assist in the coordination of onboarding materials and resources to help new hires integrate smoothly into the Helion culture.
- Track deadlines and timelines for People initiatives, proactively identifying risks and communicating status to the People Operations team.
- Contribute to the development of operational playbooks and documentation for core People processes and systems.
- Support special projects as assigned, including research, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with other departments.
- Champion a culture of ownership, urgency, and rigor in all administrative and People-focused activities.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must bring a foundational level of experience and discipline in operations, HR, or a related field. Because you will handle sensitive employee data and influence key People programs, your reliability, discretion, and attention to detail are essential.
- 1+ years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, administration, customer support, or a related field.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with compliance and discretion.
- Experience communicating clearly and effectively, with the ability to partner across teams and levels of the organization.
- Comfortability managing multiple priorities and providing excellent employee support in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee data and information.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing records, reports, and administrative deliverables.
- Reliability and professionalism in communication, with a demonstrated commitment to meeting commitments and deadlines.
- Willingness to work onsite at the Everett, WA office during standard business hours as required by the role.
