About the Role
You will lead the Data Engineering function, establishing vision and taking full responsibility for delivering robust platforms. Your work will guide the development of systems that underpin analytics, experimentation, artificial intelligence initiatives, and executive oversight. This position demands significant ownership, blending architectural foresight with data strategy and team development. You will translate business requirements into reliable, scalable technical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
You will define and manage the technical roadmap for data engineering on a recurring quarterly schedule. Execution discipline will be central, with a focus on delivering high-quality results against strict timelines. Your architectural decisions will shape the foundation of our backend systems and data infrastructure, built upon proven design principles.
Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing data warehouses and strategies tailored for SaaS environments. You will define clear objectives for your team and guide execution to ensure tangible business outcomes. Mentorship will be a core function, as you help engineers maximize their potential and define individual career progression paths.
You will lead critical technical discussions, influencing major architectural and design choices. Collaboration with product teams will be essential in shaping the future data and platform roadmap. You will also build and maintain infrastructure components that ensure reliability for analytics and strategic insights. Every design choice will be reviewed and validated before scaling to meet production demands.
Qualifications
You bring more than eight years of software development experience, with at least two years in engineering leadership. Your expertise includes strong architecture and system design for large-scale web services. You have a proven track record in designing and developing backend systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure components.
Your understanding of cloud-native architectures is extensive, particularly within the AWS ecosystem. You have designed and built data warehouses to support analytical workloads. You have previously defined and executed data strategies for SaaS products. You lead technical discussions and drive decisions that influence system direction.
Additional Value
Experience with Kafka, Spark, and related data technologies is highly relevant. Hands-on work with Python, Kubernetes, Docker, and modern deployment workflows will enable you to contribute effectively.
