About the role
The is entrusted with the critical financial and logistical groundwork required for civil infrastructure initiatives. In this capacity, you will own the quantification and financial modeling necessary to translate complex design concepts into viable construction programs. You will be responsible for performing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil works, covering roads, highways, waterworks, sewers, excavation, mass earthworks, riprap, and marine infrastructure such as breakwaters and wharves. Within the project lifecycle, you will Prepare project schedules and resource plans to ensure that timelines are realistic and resource allocation is optimized. You will also Support project budgeting and financial tracking by providing accurate data that guides spending decisions and variance analysis. Another core facet of the position involves coordinating closely with project teams and stakeholders to align technical requirements with contractual and financial expectations. Furthermore, you will Conduct site visits and data collection to validate conditions and incorporate field intelligence into your models. Finally, you will Produce tender documents and contract-related documentation that clearly communicate scope, method, and cost to contractors and clients.

- Assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies through rigorous cost analysis and scenario modeling.
- Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, assumptions, and revision histories for audit and reference purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of value engineering studies to optimize project deliverables.
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to validate pricing and availability of materials and services.
- Support the preparation of contract documents, including specifications, schedules, and pricing schedules.
- Participate in pre-tender meetings and client presentations to clarify scope and gather essential information.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a cost estimator or project engineer in civil construction.
- You need Strong proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.
- You need Solid understanding of civil works scope and methods.
- You need Ability to interpret plans, specs, and quantities.
- Strong analytical and judgment skills for cost analysis and risk assessment.
- You need Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
- Preferred: degree or diploma in civil engineering or construction management.

- It helps if Knowledge of contract administration and change management.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
