You will guide the integration strategy for a team responsible for the systems that allow GoFundMe to work reliably at scale. The position requires a balance of technical oversight, product thinking, and hands-on contribution. You will shape the future of donor and nonprofit experiences.

What you'll do
You will define the technical vision for the integrations platform. This involves designing robust solutions for webhooks, APIs, and connections to enterprise systems like Salesforce. A core responsibility is guiding a complex migration to a next-generation platform while ensuring stability for existing partners. You will establish and maintain healthy operational practices for systems that must be correct and reliable. This includes on-call rotations, monitoring, and incident response.
You will work closely with Product, Design, and Customer Success teams. Your goal is to create seamless experiences for people raising money and for the nonprofits that support them. A key part of the role is recruiting and developing engineers. You will mentor staff through feedback, career growth plans, and performance discussions. You will also collaborate with external technology partners. In this role, you will champion the use of modern AI coding assistants to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
You will build and operate event-driven architectures using cloud infrastructure. This work relies on managed services for messaging, compute, and data storage. The role requires deep engagement with distributed system patterns. You will ensure designs support high availability and correct processing of critical transactions.
Requirements
You have experience leading software engineering teams. You must also maintain strong technical skills as a hands-on contributor. You should be able to discuss backend architecture in detail with other senior engineers. Your background should include building platforms that handle integrations and events.
You must communicate effectively about distributed systems concepts. This includes topics like idempotency and reliable processing of messages. You have a history of delivering complex backend projects. You manage scope, risk, and stakeholders across multiple teams. You have partnered with cross-functional groups to solve difficult problems.
You are comfortable managing phased rollouts of new platform features. You understand how to migrate workloads safely without impacting users or partners. You have experience with modern integration patterns. You understand how APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous messaging work together.

Skills & tools
You will work with a standard modern cloud stack. This includes programming with TypeScript and Node.js. You will design APIs and webhook endpoints for external consumers. Your infrastructure will run on AWS. You will use Lambda for compute, SQS for queues, and SNS for messaging. You will manage data in DynamoDB. You will run containers using ECS. You will manage external access using API Gateway. You will integrate with Salesforce for nonprofit relationship management.
