In this position, you will be part of the Growth team at Careers, focusing on the development of intelligent agents to enhance customer experiences. You will work remotely, with occasional opportunities to connect with your team in person. Your work will involve architecting and managing AI-driven systems that address real-world business challenges.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Create and implement production-ready AI agents utilizing Node.js, incorporating large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI and Anthropic into scalable backend services, and delivering full-stack applications with React frontends.
• Design and oversee cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure to accommodate AI workloads for a large user base, including database architecture and comprehensive system management.
• Develop and enhance APIs that coordinate AI agents, manage asynchronous tasks, and oversee complex workflows, emphasizing performance and reliability in production settings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish scalable and maintainable solutions while minimizing technical debt and reinforcing engineering practices.
• Guide junior engineers on best practices for full-stack development and AI, and participate in on-call duties and incident management to uphold high operational standards.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing and scaling full-stack applications, with a primary emphasis on backend systems and infrastructure, including the complete delivery of production solutions.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, managing services at scale capable of supporting thousands of concurrent users.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures, with expertise in API design, asynchronous processing, and event-driven systems.
• Proficiency in modern backend programming languages like Node.js, Python, or Go, along with experience in SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Solid background in observability practices (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting), containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD workflows, with a commitment to producing clean, maintainable code.

Nice to have

• Experience in developing applications using LLMs and AI frameworks (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, etc.), including deployment and monitoring of ML/AI models in live environments.
• Knowledge of agentic AI methodologies such as tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt orchestration, and structured output validation.
• Familiarity with vector databases and semantic search technologies (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Elasticsearch).
• Background in building modern single-page applications with frameworks like React or Vue, along with experience in developing APIs or platform services.
• Experience in implementing early testing strategies and automated testing to ensure code quality and reliability.
