About the role

In this role, you will act as the main technical consultant for both potential and existing clients of GitLab. Your primary focus will be to showcase how GitLab's DevSecOps platform can fulfill their technical and business requirements throughout the software development lifecycle. You will assist organizations in their digital transformation journeys by leveraging your technical expertise, knowledge of cloud technologies, and a customer-centric approach.

What you'll do

• Facilitate technical discussions, demonstrations, and validation sessions to showcase how GitLab's AI-driven DevSecOps platform meets customer needs throughout the development process.
• Take charge of the technical assessment process, which includes designing solutions, overseeing proof of value projects, organizing workshops, and contributing to tender submissions and audits.
• Collaborate with Account Executives and regional sales teams in the MENA region to create and execute account strategies aimed at acquiring new clients and growing existing business relationships.
• Build and nurture relationships with technical experts and business leaders, guiding them through their transformation with GitLab and encouraging them to advocate for the platform.
• Advise clients on modern software development practices, CI/CD, security, and cloud strategies, recommending enhancements to maximize their return on investment.
• Serve as a liaison for customer insights, use cases, and competitive intelligence to GitLab's Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing teams.
• Continuously improve your technical knowledge in GitLab, DevSecOps, AI, and related cloud technologies, creating shared resources like best practice guides and technical documentation.
• Commit to your personal and professional development through ongoing learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to enhance the effectiveness of the Solutions Architect team.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as pre-sales, consulting, or similar positions, where you have guided clients through solution design and evaluation.
• Strong understanding of the entire software development lifecycle, including modern DevSecOps methodologies and CI/CD processes.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab or similar tools for source control, CI/CD, and collaboration, with the ability to relate platform features to specific customer needs.
• Practical knowledge of cloud computing concepts and related technologies, enabling you to engage in discussions about deployment, security, and operational aspects with technical teams.
• Proven ability to manage technical evaluations such as proofs of concept or value, contribute to tenders or audits, and design and conduct workshops or value stream assessments.
• Excellent technical communication and presentation skills, capable of adapting messages for various audiences, from technical practitioners to senior executives.
• A knack for building trust, actively listening with empathy, and effectively representing customer needs to internal teams, including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
• A proactive attitude towards continuous professional growth, including acquiring new technical skills, deepening your understanding of the GitLab platform, and applying relevant experience from related fields.
