You will operate at the core of high-stakes real estate transactions, where your expertise directly dictates the efficiency and accuracy of complex deal execution. This role owns the intricate details of due diligence and document preparation, ensuring that every title nuance and zoning requirement is meticulously addressed before closing. You will collaborate directly with clients, title companies, and counterparties, translating legal strategy into actionable paralegal workflows. The position demands a proactive mindset capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You will report to the Transactional Paralegal Supervisor and Associate Director of Paralegal Services, integrating seamlessly into a distinguished team known for precision and vision. This is an opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on more complex assignments and play a critical role in the successful conclusion of significant real estate matters.
Key facts
What you'll do
Coordinate directly with title companies, surveyors, and zoning companies to resolve outstanding issues and negotiate the terms of title and UCC policy coverage.
Prepare comprehensive title and survey objection letters, seller response letters, and detailed due diligence review summaries for attorney analysis.
Review and analyze title commitments, property surveys, and zoning reports, extracting and summarizing key findings to facilitate efficient attorney review.
Draft escrow instructions, conveyance documents, and ancillary loan documents, including materials related to loan pay-offs and UCC filings.
Conduct in-depth reviews and prepare abstracts of leases while maintaining accurate and up-to-date related databases.
Order and review UCC, litigation, and bankruptcy searches, synthesizing the results into clear and concise summary reports for the legal team.
Support attorneys and senior paralegals with all aspects of closing logistics, including the management of detailed checklists, assembly of final documentation, and preparation of closing binders.
Manage the entire post-closing process, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and all conditions are met for a smooth transaction conclusion.
Assist with all aspects of commercial real estate financing and acquisition transactions from inception to close.
Collaborate with attorneys and senior paralegals across multiple Gibson Dunn offices to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient workflow on client matters.
Implement meticulous organizational systems to manage multiple deadlines and priorities without compromising accuracy or quality.
Utilize advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat to produce high-quality legal documents and reports.
Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive client information and complex transaction details.
Communicate professionally and effectively with internal teams, external counsel, and third-party vendors to drive transactions forward.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required.
Paralegal Certificate preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate transactions, preferably within an AmLaw 100 firm or comparable corporate legal environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat required; familiarity with document management and closing software is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and problem-solve in connection with complex transactions.
Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Practical notes
Compensation: The annual compensation range for this position is $100-130k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.

This position reports to the Transactional Paralegal Supervisor and Associate Director of Paralegal Services.
