Quant Developer
Gauntlet builds the foundational financial infrastructure for onchain markets. The organization operates across the complete stack, delivering vault products that serve over $1.5 billion in client TVL. Major fintechs, neobanks, protocols, exchanges, and traditional asset managers rely on systems built by the quant development team. The role is not a research position where models are passed to an external engineering group. You will design the strategy, write the production code, deploy the module, and maintain it through market cycles. Capital allocation decisions are executed onchain within weeks of accepting the position.
About the Organization
The company constructs the financial systems of the future. Gauntlet manages a diverse set of vault strategies, including lending and credit curation, cross-chain yield aggregation, structured products, and real-world asset integrations. The team maintains responsibility for the entire strategy lifecycle. This includes research and protocol due diligence, design, backtesting, allocation logic, onchain execution, and continuous monitoring. Professionals join one of several specialized vault strategy teams. Each member is accountable for performance, security, and uptime of the deployed strategies.
Role Definition
The Quant Developer joins a specific vault strategy team based on demonstrated interests and background. You will define the business logic that governs capital deployment. The role involves crafting resilient execution code and maintaining the production systems that handle active capital flows. Your work directly dictates how vaults manage large client portfolios across numerous protocols. You will take research concepts and transform them into deployed modules capable of processing live market data without delay. The environment requires comfort with active portfolio management and system stability under stress.
Key Responsibilities
You will design intake procedures that capture market rules and protocol constraints prior to deployment.
Construction of allocation engines will follow a strict sequence, balancing risk limits, liquidity paths, and execution costs.
Every trade proposal must be reviewed against predefined limits and simulated for outcomes. Decisions to approve or block actions are based on explicit policies.
Implementation of monitoring dashboards is required to surface position drifts, latency spikes, and error patterns for oncall staff.
Cross-functional coordination with partners is essential to align data formats and standardize schemas, reducing integration friction over time.
Protection of execution paths is critical to ensure orders respect gas budgets, nonce handling, and failure modes during high-stress scenarios.
Performance telemetry analysis will identify sources of slippage, allowing for parameter adjustments that improve realized returns.
Creation and maintenance of strategy artifacts, versioned configurations, and documentation will enable rapid onboarding for new team members.
Professional Requirements
Candidates must possess three to five years of professional experience building systems that manage real money flows.
A deep understanding of fixed income, derivatives, or crypto primitives is necessary to question assumptions in pricing models.
Comfort with structured data, strict schemas, and rigorous validation rules is mandatory to prevent system failures.
Development of tests and observability hooks is required to catch edge cases before they impact client funds.
Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders must be maintained while adhering to strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience working with onchain protocols, smart contract interactions, and transaction simulation is valued.
Familiarity with the specific protocols and data sources in the Gauntlet ecosystem is considered an asset.
Technical Skills and Tools
The role relies on a specific set of technologies. Python and Rust are primary programming languages. Database systems include PostgreSQL and Redis. Infrastructure tools include Linux, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes. Cloud platforms include AWS and GCP. Data tools include Snowflake. Integration points include Alchemy, Etherscan, Aave, Compound, Chainlink, Uniswap, and EigenLayer. Smart contract standards rely on OpenZeppelin.

Location options include New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Remote positions.
The engagement is for Full Time employment.
Compensation ranges from $180,000 to $320,000 per year.
