Associate Product Manager
Job description
About the role
FourKites seeks an Associate Product Manager to own meaningful product outcomes for the OTR & Core Visibility flagship line. You will translate freight operations realities into product decisions that drive adoption and retention. The role combines data analysis, customer engagement, and cross-functional execution in an AI-driven supply chain environment.
Product managers decide what a team builds and why. They gather customer feedback, define requirements, and set priorities. Product work spans engineering, design, and business teams and ships products that solve real problems. The role combines research, writing, analysis, and decision making under uncertainty. Product work happens at the intersection of user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility. Most product managers own a roadmap and are judged by the outcomes their teams ship.

Practical experience specifically in truckload transportation, freight visibility, or carrier/shipper operations to ground product decisions.
Experience collaborating with distributed or offshore engineering teams across time zones to ensure alignment and delivery.
Comfort working hands-on with data, including SQL proficiency and familiarity with analytics tools, to build a data-driven narrative.

Prior exposure to SaaS onboarding flows, feature adoption programs, or customer health scoring in supply chain contexts.
Experience with Pendo, Amplitude, or similar product analytics tools for tracking adoption and retention.
Familiarity with agile development and working directly with engineering squads on real-time visibility products.
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, economics, or a quantitative discipline relevant to supply chain software.
Practical notes
This role requires US work authorization and may involve occasional travel. Typical interview steps
Product interviews often include a product sense round, an analytical round, and a behavioral round. Candidates may be asked to design a feature, prioritize a backlog, or estimate a metric. Some loops include a case exercise. Strong candidates show structured thinking and customer empathy. Interviewers want to see how you prioritize when everything matters. Walking through your decision criteria out loud is a strong habit in product interviews.
Good to know
The role focuses on an AI-driven supply chain control tower used by large shippers tracking billions in freight.
You will work with tools such as Pendo, Mixpanel, SQL, and AI assistants to analyze data and define product direction.
Success depends on balancing deep logistics empathy with rigorous analytical decision-making.
Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, data science, and customer teams is central to daily work.
The position includes structured learning time, global recharge days, and support for professional development.
Questions to ask
Good questions to ask the employer in the interview: what does success look like in the first six months, how is the team structured, what is the current biggest challenge, and how are decisions made. Asking about growth paths and the review process is also well received. Employers expect questions, and good ones show preparation.
Career growth
Product careers usually move from associate to product manager, then to senior, group, or director levels. Some people specialize in growth, platform, or enterprise products. Others move into general management. Success depends on shipped outcomes rather than shipped output. Product careers often reward generalists early and specialists later. Experience shipping measurable outcomes is the strongest signal for promotion.
