What you'll do
- Provide first-line support for desktop and laptop hardware, operating systems, and software applications, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to network connectivity, printers, and peripherals, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow.
- Assist users with software installations, updates, and configuration, ensuring that all applications are functioning correctly and efficiently.
- Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and upgrades, ensuring a smooth transition for all users.
- Document all support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on hardware and software, proactively identifying potential issues before they escalate.
- Provide training and support to employees on best practices for using technology and software tools, enhancing overall productivity.
- Assist in the setup and configuration of new workstations, ensuring that all equipment is ready for use upon employee onboarding.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives, contributing your expertise to improve overall system performance and user satisfaction.
- Stay updated on the latest technology trends and developments, continuously improving your skills and knowledge in the field.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, working closely with colleagues to ensure that all IT needs are met effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a desktop support role or similar position, with a strong understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, as well as common productivity software such as Microsoft Office.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-focused approach to support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools, enhancing the efficiency of support processes.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and challenges.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
