Technical Sourcer
Job description
About the role
Flow Engineering constructs an AI-driven platform that allows hardware teams to manage requirements and collaborate with autonomous agents throughout the entire development lifecycle. The company is actively building the infrastructure necessary to accelerate the deployment of complex physical systems. We are currently seeking a dedicated sourcer to assist in scaling both our engineering and operations functions from our base in San Francisco. In this capacity, you will serve as the primary point of contact for identifying, assessing, and nurturing technical talent. Your work will directly influence the quality and speed of team expansion as we enter critical growth phases. You will own the full-cycle sourcing workflow, ensuring that the talent pipeline remains robust and aligned with the specific needs of our operational goals. This position requires a high degree of ownership over candidate research, outreach, and relationship building. You will be instrumental in translating hiring demand into targeted search strategies that deliver a consistent flow of qualified applicants.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Execute multi-channel sourcing campaigns that leverage LinkedIn, niche industry events, and strategic referral networks to identify passive candidates for critical engineering roles.
- Conduct initial screening of incoming applications to assess basic qualifications, career trajectory, and alignment with the core requirements of the position.
- Lead first-round interviews designed to evaluate candidate potential, technical aptitude, and problem-solving approaches in a hardware-focused context.
- Independently assess candidate quality by analyzing resumes, portfolios, and technical demonstrations to determine the likelihood of success in the role.
- Evaluate cultural fit by probing motivations, work style preferences, and alignment with the iterative, collaborative ethos of Flow Engineering.
- Take full ownership of interview scheduling, coordinating across multiple time zones and interviewer availabilities to maintain a seamless candidate experience.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date records for each candidate within the applicant tracking system, ensuring data integrity supports informed hiring decisions.
- Partner directly with hiring leads to dissect job requirements, refine search criteria, and establish realistic hiring milestones that support the broader product roadmap.
- Proactively manage the progression of candidates through the pipeline, providing timely updates and feedback to stakeholders to keep discussions moving forward.
- Develop and implement strategies to build a diverse talent pool, ensuring that search efforts reach beyond traditional sources to uncover hidden expertise.
- Monitor sourcing channel effectiveness, adjusting tactics based on response rates and quality of hire to optimize return on recruitment investment.
- Represent the Flow Engineering brand in all external communications, ensuring a professional and compelling narrative is presented to prospective candidates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand upcoming hiring needs and anticipate future talent requirements for both current projects and strategic initiatives.
- Drive the end-to-end sourcing process from initial market mapping to final candidate presentation, ensuring a steady pipeline of high-potential individuals.
Requirements
- Possess 3 to 6 years of professional recruiting experience, with a demonstrated track record of successfully placing technical roles in fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrate a strong ability to communicate the company mission and vision to potential hires, articulating how individual contributions impact the broader product strategy.
- Exhibit an ability to independently assess candidate quality and cultural fit without relying on extensive oversight or micromanagement.
- Show a high level of self-organization and comfort working in a fast-paced environment where shifting priorities are the norm rather than the exception.
- Have a proven track record of managing the complete candidate lifecycle, from initial outreach through offer negotiation and acceptance.
- Display strong judgment in evaluating technical resumes and identifying candidates who possess the potential for growth, even if their background is not a perfect match.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in candidate profiles, interview notes, and reporting metrics.
- Commit to maintaining the confidentiality of all candidates and internal hiring discussions throughout the sourcing process.
Nice to have
- Background in recruiting for go-to-market roles, including sales, marketing, and customer success positions.
- Proven ability to manage candidates through the offer and closing process, navigating counteroffers and negotiation hurdles effectively.
