About the role
Flow Traders is on the lookout for driven, competitive, and curious individuals to join our growing Trading team based in New York City. This role presents a unique opportunity to launch your career at a proprietary trading firm where innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and collaboration are at the heart of our operations. You will begin your journey with an extensive three-month training program in Amsterdam, designed to provide you with a deep understanding of our core business, the financial instruments we trade, market dynamics, pricing strategies, and our proprietary trading technologies. This program will include quantitative coursework, trading simulations, and mentorship from seasoned Traders and Quantitative Researchers, preparing you to make swift, informed decisions in the dynamic landscape of financial markets.
Upon completion of the training, you will transition to a trading desk in New York, where you will gradually assume greater responsibilities, monitor market activities, identify trading opportunities, and contribute directly to your desk's performance.

What you'll do
- Participate in a rigorous training program to establish a solid foundation in trading principles and financial market operations.

- Provide regular updates and reports on trading activities and market conditions to senior team members.

Requirements
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in a STEM-related field such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A genuine interest in trading and a solid understanding of global financial markets.
- Familiarity with a range of financial products, including equities, derivatives, and fixed income.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with exceptional mental math abilities.
- Proficiency in Python programming for data analysis and algorithm development.
- Ability to think critically and make decisions quickly in high-pressure situations.
- A competitive nature with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
- Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment that presents both challenges and rewards.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours as market conditions dictate.
Nice to have
- Previous internship experience in trading or finance-related roles.

Regarding compensation, Flow Traders conducts thorough market research to determine salary ranges. The final offer will be influenced by several factors, including your level of experience, location, and specific skill set. All employees are also eligible for annual discretionary variable remuneration based on the performance of the company, group, and individual contributions.
In accordance with the NYC Salary Transparency Law, the total compensation for this position includes a base salary of $175,000, in addition to annual discretionary variable remuneration.
