About the role

Flow Traders is actively searching for a skilled Digital Assets Trader to integrate into our global trading operation, and this specific opportunity is anchored in New York. The role you will own involves developing, executing, and refining successful trading strategies that function effectively in both centralized and decentralized financial environments. You will be responsible for engaging in continuous trading activities, monitoring performance, and conducting ongoing risk assessment of digital asset strategies around the clock. A core part of your ownership will be spotting and exploiting fleeting market inefficiencies across a wide array of exchanges, instruments, and protocols. You will work in collaboration with global teams to enhance execution quality, refine tools, and upgrade trading infrastructure where necessary. Furthermore, you will provide research and actionable insights designed to boost team performance and strategy effectiveness over time. In this capacity, you will be expected to generate and assess trading ideas based strictly on data analysis and real-time market feedback. The position demands a high degree of flexibility to work varied hours, aligning with the 24-hour nature of the digital asset markets.

What you'll do

• Generate, execute, and refine successful trading strategies in both CeFi and DeFi markets.

• Assume ownership of trading ideas, subjecting them to data analysis and real-time feedback.
• Manage the execution, monitoring, and risk assessment of active trading books.
• Liaise with technology teams to ensure the trading infrastructure supports strategic objectives.
• Adapt to shifting market conditions by adjusting strategies based on live data streams.
• Contribute to the development of trading tools that enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain strict adherence to risk parameters and compliance standards.
• Evaluate the performance of executed trades to optimize future strategy implementation.

Requirements

• Possess proven experience at a top proprietary trading firm or demonstrate a strong history of profitability in trading.
• Show clear ownership of trading strategies that are actively running in production environments.
• Bring experience in at least one of the following areas: low-latency trading in centralized finance (CeFi) or on-chain trading in decentralized finance (DeFi).
• Exhibit a strong grasp of execution mechanics, liquidity, and market dynamics specific to digital assets.
• Show familiarity with latency-sensitive systems and the use of exchange APIs.
• Generate and assess trading ideas based strictly on data analysis and real-time feedback.
• Maintain the flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, to cover market activity.
• Demonstrate strong quantitative abilities with proficient programming and data management skills, specifically in Python and SQL.

Practical notes

Flow Traders values clear communication with employees and stakeholders. This role is based in New York and operates on a full-time basis. The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $175,000 to $225,000, supplemented by annual discretionary variable remuneration tied to performance. All employees are integrated into a global team structure and can participate in the company's success through this remuneration structure.
