About the role
You will own the full lifecycle of mobile features for our client engagements, translating business requirements into robust, production-ready iOS and Android applications. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing a critical Kentucky-based mobile application while delivering new capabilities for Public Assistance and Revenue Integrity platforms. You will act as a technical leader for the vendor team, guiding internal resources and ensuring alignment with industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with customer service and line of business stakeholders to drive high adoption rates across three operating companies. Expect to participate actively in daily standups and contribute to strategic deployment planning sessions. You will coordinate production deployments, ensuring releases are stable, secure, and meet strict operational standards. This position requires a proactive mindset to troubleshoot complex issues and refine the user experience continuously. Your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of mission-critical mobile services used across the enterprise.

What you'll do
Coordinate the design and implementation of new features for iOS and Android applications to meet evolving business needs.
Lead the development and maintenance of the existing Kentucky mobile application, ensuring stability and performance across diverse device ecosystems.
Build and support the Public Assistance mobile application for iOS and Android, focusing on usability and integration with backend services.
Construct and maintain the Revenue Integrity mobile application for iOS and Android, emphasizing data accuracy and security compliance.
Collaborate with vendor teams and internal resources to align technical solutions with project goals and timelines.
Support the customer service line of business by providing technical guidance and ensuring smooth adoption of mobile tools.
Attend daily standup meetings to discuss progress, roadblocks, and priorities with cross-functional team members.
Coordinate production deployments, managing release schedules and validating builds before public distribution.
Test iOS and Android applications using emulators and simulators to identify defects and verify functionality under various conditions.
Implement and manage authentication flows by integrating Identity Providers to secure user access and data.
Utilize Firebase for app monitoring, analyzing performance metrics, and troubleshooting issues in real time.
Configure and manage mobile notifications to enhance user engagement and communication across the platform.
Ensure all applications meet store guidelines and are prepared for submission to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
Document technical processes and solutions to facilitate knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
Requirements
5+ years of reputable experience developing and leading projects for iOS using Swift.
5+ years of reputable experience developing and leading projects for Android using Kotlin.
5+ years of experience pushing iOS applications to the App Store through rigorous release workflows.
5+ years of experience pushing Android applications to Google Play Store, managing versioning and compliance.
5+ years of experience testing iOS applications using simulators to validate functionality and interface behavior.
5+ years of experience testing Android applications using emulators to ensure performance and reliability.
Proven experience with Identity Providers for authentication, including configuration and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Firebase for app monitoring, including analytics, crash reporting, and performance tracking.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of mobile development lifecycle, from conception through deployment and maintenance.
Ability to interpret complex requirements and convert them into technical specifications and user stories.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders across multiple time zones.
Commitment to writing clean, maintainable code and following established software development best practices.
Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support urgent production issues as they arise.

Practical notes
This is a full-time contract position with an initial duration of 6 months. The role is fully remote, allowing work from any location. There is no travel required for this assignment.
