Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with international software engineering teams based in the US, UK, Germany, and Japan to design, develop, and implement robust technology solutions that meet business and clinical needs.
- Engage directly with oncologists, clinicians, product leaders, data analysts, and customers to understand their challenges, gather requirements, and identify opportunities where technology can deliver value.
- Play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the team by contributing to roadmaps, setting priorities, and driving initiatives that align with company goals and customer needs.
- Assist in building and expanding our European engineering teams, helping to foster a positive, inclusive, and innovative company culture as we grow our presence in the UK and Europe.
- Develop new features and improve existing products by writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, following best practices for software development and security.
- Rapidly iterate on products, balancing speed with quality, and ensuring that solutions are reliable, scalable, and secure.
- Work with complex data pipelines, utilizing various data processing tools and frameworks to handle large-scale health data securely and efficiently.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure, primarily using AWS, to support scalable and resilient applications.
- Acquire or deepen understanding of the UK healthcare landscape, including data sources, security protocols, privacy regulations, information governance, and emerging trends in health data management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that technical solutions are aligned with user needs and regulatory requirements, especially in sensitive healthcare environments.
- Share knowledge and best practices with team members, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation efforts to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
- Stay informed about new technologies, tools, and industry trends relevant to healthcare data, cloud computing, and full-stack development to ensure that solutions remain innovative and effective.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a full-stack software engineer, with a proven track record of delivering complex software solutions.
- Strong proficiency in agile development methodologies, with experience working in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
- Hands-on experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or SQL, and a willingness to learn new technologies as needed.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS, including deploying and managing applications in the cloud environment.
- Recent experience in front-end development, ideally with React, and a good understanding of UI/UX principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams, including product managers, data scientists, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong understanding of the importance of reliable, secure, and scalable technology solutions, with experience using appropriate tools and practices to achieve these goals.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into understandable language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Empathy and a customer-focused mindset, with a passion for delivering value through technology solutions.
- Ability to work comfortably in ambiguous situations, adapt to changing priorities, and learn new skills quickly.
- Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience working with data warehousing solutions such as Snowflake, and understanding of data management best practices.
- Background or prior experience working within the UK healthcare sector, with knowledge of its data sources, regulations, and operational workflows.
- Educational qualifications such as a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques, data engineering, infrastructure management, DevOps practices, or security engineering to support healthcare data solutions.
