What you'll do
Produce high-quality report-length and short-form editorial content, including articles, blogs and thought leadership pieces that meet rigorous standards of quality and impact.
Design and write complex surveys and questionnaires aligned to research objectives, ensuring methodological soundness and clarity of questioning.
Analyse and interpret data, identifying clear narratives and media-friendly insights that translate intricate findings into compelling stories.
Conduct interviews with senior business leaders and subject-matter experts, drawing out nuanced perspectives that enrich editorial content.
Develop compelling narrative decks and presentations for clients and stakeholders, structuring information for maximum clarity and persuasiveness.
Lead editorial projects end-to-end, coordinating research, drafting, and delivery to ensure quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
Facilitate workshops and contribute to client discussions, providing strategic input and expert guidance on content direction.
Maintain rigorous standards of data accuracy, editorial integrity, and proofreading across all outputs to safeguard the FT's reputation for precision.
Support commercial activity through proposal development and participation in prospect meetings, aligning editorial value with business objectives.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial processes and methodologies, incorporating feedback and best practices from across the organization.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including research analysts, designers, and commercial partners, to integrate diverse inputs into cohesive outputs.
Champion the FT's editorial principles in every piece of work, ensuring that content remains independent, authoritative, and aligned with the mission of delivering quality information worldwide.
Requirements
Demonstrable experience (typically 3-5 years) in editorial, journalism, research or content roles, providing a proven track record in producing high-quality written work.
Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills across long- and short-form formats, with a clear ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
Experience working with data, including analysis and translating findings into clear narratives that non-specialist readers can readily understand.
Strong interviewing skills, particularly with senior stakeholders, enabling you to extract insightful comments and build trust with high-profile contributors.
Ability to develop research themes, hypotheses and content strategies that are both analytically rigorous and commercially relevant.
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating robust organisational and prioritisation skills.
Confident presenting ideas and engaging with senior stakeholders and clients, conveying professionalism and depth of understanding in every interaction.
Strong attention to detail, particularly in data validation and copy accuracy, ensuring that all published material meets exacting standards.
A commitment to upholding the highest standards of editorial integrity, transparency, and fairness in all aspects of content production.
Willingness to work within the hybrid model, which requires onsite presence 50% of the time, subject to role requirements and regular review.
