This specific role is dedicated to the expansion and refinement of our LOIS artificial intelligence system, which is designed to help legal professionals manage complex tasks with greater accuracy and efficiency. The successful candidate will act as a critical bridge between technical possibilities and user needs, ensuring that AI capabilities are delivered in a practical and impactful manner. You will own the definition and evolution of specific product features within the LOIS suite, translating high-level objectives into actionable product requirements. What you'll do
- Draft user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria for AI-integrated features that define the functional scope of new capabilities.
- Manage functional requirements for LOIS, including the detailed specifications for automated deposition summaries, real-time analysis, and complex workflow automation processes.
- Coordinate with engineering and UX teams through active participation in development cycles to ensure user needs are translated into functional software solutions.
- Maintain the sprint backlog by slicing large initiatives into manageable deliverables, identifying potential roadblocks, and ensuring realistic timelines are met.
- Analyze product metrics and structured customer feedback to guide feature development, identify areas for improvement, and validate product success.
- Conduct user acceptance testing with QA teams to verify feature quality, functionality, and alignment with the intended user experience before general release.
- Assist Product Marketing and Customer Success teams by creating accurate release notes, comprehensive training materials, and clear user guides for new AI features.
- Serve as the primary internal expert for your specific product area, providing authoritative guidance and support to cross-functional departments.
- Define and track key performance indicators for new AI functionalities to measure adoption, engagement, and overall product effectiveness.
- Collaborate with data specialists to establish reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights into user behavior and feature utilization.
- Translate complex technical concepts regarding AI capabilities into clear communication for non-technical stakeholders during planning sessions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the user journey by analyzing friction points within the legal software ecosystem.
- Support the configuration and customization of LOIS features to meet specific client requirements where appropriate.
- Ensure all product documentation remains current and reflects the latest changes to AI features and operational workflows.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in software product management, APM roles, or related fields like Business Analysis or Product Ownership within a SaaS environment, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering software products.
- B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science, engineering, business, information systems, or equivalent practical experience that provides a solid foundation for technology product management.
- Proficiency in Agile or Scrum methodologies and backlog management tools such as Jira, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to analyze quantitative data and user feedback to prioritize tasks and solve logic problems, utilizing structured reasoning to arrive at effective product decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for producing technical documentation that is clear, concise, and accessible to diverse audiences.
- Ability to travel occasionally for conferences, customer visits, or team meetings at our Salt Lake City headquarters, ensuring alignment with company objectives and team cohesion.
