What you'll do
- Design and execute risk assessments for financial reporting and controls, identifying, measuring, and monitoring key sources of uncertainty in the general ledger.
- Oversee the full close sequence, coordinating balance sheet and income statement preparation, journal entry management, and reconciliation workflows to support timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Own the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and regulatory expectations while maintaining clear documentation of policies and assumptions.
- Manage the full lifecycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including validation of transactions, aging analysis, and oversight of payment and collection activities.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting initiatives, building financial models, analyzing variances, and producing management reports that explain drivers and emerging trends.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to interpret business activity, translate operational results into financial insights, and recommend adjustments that improve cost control and capital efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing organized access to records, responding to detailed inquiries, and tracking open items to successful resolution.
- Implement, document, and maintain accounting controls and procedures, testing key controls and refining processes to strengthen reliability, repeatability, and audit readiness.
- Conduct financial analysis and reporting that highlight risk, performance, and compliance, using structured methods to evaluate scenarios and support data-driven decisions.
- Engage with regulators, advisors, and external partners on technical accounting matters, ensuring consistent treatment and clear communication of policies and estimates.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a preferred degree path is in Accounting or Finance.
- Bring a minimum number of years of experience in a technical accounting or finance role, with demonstrated ownership of complex accounting activities.
- Show proficiency with accounting software and financial systems, using these tools to process transactions, reconcile balances, and produce accurate reports.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards, applying them consistently across transactions, estimates, and disclosures.
- Have direct experience with month-end and year-end close processes, including leading cross-functional coordination and resolving challenging accounting issues.
- Exhibit the ability to analyze financial data and prepare clear, concise reports that explain results and inform management action.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing, with a track record of high-quality output and reduced errors.
- Apply knowledge of internal controls and compliance requirements, embedding control design into routine accounting workflows.
- Conduct risk assessments related to financial reporting and controls, evaluating the likelihood and impact of potential misstatements and implementing mitigating actions.
- Balance competing priorities and deadlines, managing multiple deliverables and stakeholders under tight timelines without compromising quality.
