Senior Mechanical System Designer
Job description
About the role
E-Space is pioneering a new era of global connectivity, dedicated to making access from space universally available, secure, and meaningful. Our mission involves constructing a sophisticated low Earth orbit infrastructure that revolutionizes how the Internet of Things is deployed and serviced. This role is central to our manufacturing excellence, focusing on the creation of high-rate, high-precision aerospace products. You will be instrumental in designing the core mechanical systems that power our automated production lines. As a Senior Mechanical Systems Designer, you will own the end-to-end mechanical design of production infrastructure, translating complex operational requirements into robust physical systems. You will architect the fixtures, structural frames, and motion assemblies that serve as the foundation for our automated manufacturing processes. This position grants you full ownership of the mechanical subsystems, guiding them from initial concept sketches through detailed 3D modeling to final qualification for production. You will act as the primary mechanical integrator, ensuring that your designs not only function independently but also harmonize with the broader ecosystem of electronics and software. Your analytical mindset will be critical in de-risking design choices early, preventing costly issues during the build and qualification phases. Ultimately, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical solutions that are not only functional but also efficient, maintainable, and scalable for high-volume production.
