Erdosmiller is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Houston, Texas. What you'll do

Lead the design and development of electrical systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients, to define project specifications and deliverables.
Conduct thorough analysis and simulations to validate electrical designs, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Prepare detailed documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and project updates, to communicate progress and findings to stakeholders.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical systems, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into project designs.
Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
Participate in project planning and budgeting, providing insights on electrical system costs and resource allocation.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices throughout the design and implementation phases.
Engage in client meetings to discuss project progress, gather feedback, and adjust designs as necessary to meet evolving needs.
Evaluate and select appropriate materials and components for electrical systems, considering factors such as cost, performance, and sustainability.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team, identifying areas for process optimization and efficiency gains.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on system design and implementation.
Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, MATLAB, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations applicable to the industry.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
Proven experience in project management, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Familiarity with renewable energy systems and sustainable design practices is an advantage.

Nice to have

Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
Experience with power distribution systems and control systems design.
Knowledge of PLC programming and automation systems.
Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project or similar tools.
Experience in the oil and gas, manufacturing, or construction industries.

Skills & tools

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and be adept at using various engineering tools and software. Familiarity with simulation and modeling software, as well as project management applications, will be beneficial. A solid understanding of electrical systems, circuit design, and power distribution is essential. Additionally, the ability to work with CAD software for drafting and design purposes is crucial for this role.
