What you'll do

Collaborate with game designers, artists, and engineers to create intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for various gaming platforms.
Develop and maintain design specifications, style guides, and UI patterns that ensure consistency across all game interfaces.
Utilize prototyping tools to create interactive mockups and wireframes that effectively communicate design concepts to stakeholders.
Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs, ensuring that user needs are met.
Implement UI designs using industry-standard tools and frameworks, ensuring that they are optimized for performance and scalability.
Work closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration of UI elements within the game engine.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UI design and gaming technology to continuously improve our design processes.
Mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback to help them grow in their roles.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to team discussions to foster a collaborative and creative environment.
Assist in the development of tools and processes that enhance the efficiency of the UI design workflow.
Create and maintain documentation for UI design processes, ensuring that knowledge is shared across the team.
Engage with the player community to gather insights and feedback that can inform future design decisions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in UI design, preferably within the gaming industry.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices in UI/UX.
Experience with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A portfolio showcasing your UI design work, including examples of interactive prototypes and completed projects.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

Nice to have

Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
Experience in motion design or animation for UI elements.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in UI design.
Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role within a design team.
Understanding of player psychology and how it influences UI design decisions.

Skills & tools

Proficient in design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
Familiar with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks.
Strong visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, color, and layout.
Excellent analytical skills for interpreting user feedback and data to inform design decisions.
Ability to create engaging and interactive user experiences that resonate with players.
