What you'll do
As a , you will own the end-to-end creation of high-fidelity UI experiences from initial concept through final implementation in Unreal Engine. You will act as the visual voice of the product, shaping interactions into compelling interfaces that feel intuitive and polished. You will partner closely with UX designers and engineers to translate abstract requirements into concrete, user-centered visual solutions. This role involves defining the aesthetic direction of menus, HUDs, and interactive systems while ensuring visual consistency across the entire project. You will iterate rapidly based on feedback and data, refining details until the UI feels both beautiful and functional. Ultimately, you are responsible for delivering final art that elevates the player experience and supports the broader product goals of the team.
You will collaborate with UX Design, Tech UI Design, and Engineering to define and execute AAA-quality UI concepts that align with project vision. This includes designing and delivering high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, style guides, and design systems that establish a consistent visual language for the product. You will implement responsive and interactive UI elements in Unreal Engine using UMG, ensuring performance and scalability across target platforms. A core part of the work involves creating and iterating on iconography, motion design, and UI animations that communicate system states and enhance usability. You will develop custom materials, shaders, and 2D effects to give UI elements a unique and polished look within the engine. You will partner with UI Technical Designers to bridge design intent and technical constraints, enabling efficient implementation workflows. You will maintain and evolve design systems, ensuring that UI components remain modular, reusable, and easy to update over time. The role requires working autonomously on complex features, managing multiple deliverables while maintaining a high-quality bar and meeting strict deadlines. You will contribute to cross-team reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating changes to keep the UI consistent and cohesive. You will also support the greater UXUI department by producing documentation, templates, and guidelines that help other teams ship polished interfaces.
Requirements
You have 2+ years of experience working collaboratively to create UI from concept to completion. You possess excellent visual design skills and maintain a strong portfolio that clearly demonstrates your process and outcomes. You are skilled with Figma, Adobe Suite, or other comparable industry-standard software for UI creation. You have proven experience implementing UI art in Unreal Engine using UMG or an equivalent game engine interface. You have experience building UI materials and shaders for game engines or comparable 3D authoring and FX tools. You have a solid understanding of UI animation and motion design principles as they apply to interactive products and games. You have the ability to see features through to completion and rapidly modify work as requirements and information evolve. You have a deep passion for making and playing games, with a strong sense of player empathy and user-focused thinking. You are a proactive individual who naturally takes ownership of outcomes and handles ambiguity with flexibility.
