Bilingual Family Support Specialist

About the role

You will own the implementation of home-based parenting education within the Healthy Families program, ensuring that each session aligns with program standards and family needs. You will partner directly with first-time parents to build trusting relationships that support long-term stability and child well-being. Your work will center on teaching parents about pregnancy, proper baby care, nurturing and attachment, and effective parenting skills in a culturally responsive manner. You will own the assessment of family strengths and barriers, translating them into personalized plans that families can understand and act upon. You will facilitate connections between families and community resources, coordinating referrals and services that support education, employment, housing, and health. You will document all interactions thoroughly, maintaining compliance with program protocols and data requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to share insights and improve service delivery for families. You will support co-parent involvement by encouraging participation in program groups and activities that reinforce positive family dynamics. You will advocate for families, ensuring they receive the information, tools, and resources necessary to create a safe and nurturing environment for their child.

Document all client interactions, progress, and service delivery activities in accordance with program protocols.

Identify barriers to family progress and collaborate with teams to develop actionable strategies and referrals.

Support family engagement in community resources that strengthen parenting skills and child well-being.

Uphold program standards and ethical guidelines in all aspects of service delivery and family interaction.

Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members to ensure alignment with program goals and service quality.

Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback based on family needs and service outcomes.

Assist in the implementation of personalized parenting education plans tailored to each family's unique circumstances.

Support the overall mission of Eliot by fostering resilience, empowerment, and lasting change within the community.

Requirements

Must hold a High school diploma or equivalent.

Must have experience working with children and families in a supportive role.

Must possess a Valid Massachusetts drivers license.

Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.

Must be able to work Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm with the ability to meet some families after work hours.

Must be comfortable conducting in-home visits and traveling to various locations within the service area.

Must pass any required background checks as part of the hiring process.

Must comply with all program policies, confidentiality agreements, and ethical standards.

Must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with families and community partners.

Must be able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Must be willing to participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
