About the role
DoubleVerify is seeking a Staff Enterprise Architect to play a crucial role in integrating our business domains, systems, and data on an enterprise scale. This position is designed for an individual contributor who can bridge business strategies with technical execution. You will be responsible for defining how our core business areas interact, determining ownership structures, and streamlining operations across both enterprise platforms and proprietary systems. The role requires a hands-on leader who can translate high-level business intent into coherent technical designs and ensure those designs are realized by engineering teams. You will act as the central thought leader for enterprise structure, aligning complex initiatives under a unified architecture vision. Success in this role means enabling scalable, efficient, and secure ways for the business to operate and innovate. You will work closely with stakeholders to resolve misalignment and establish clear boundaries that prevent future complexity. This is a strategic position where your influence will be seen across the entire organization.
What you'll do
- Develop and articulate a comprehensive architecture vision for key business domains, focusing on processes, data, applications, and integrations.
- Transform business strategies into actionable roadmaps, emphasizing measurable outcomes such as efficiency gains and risk mitigation.
- Identify opportunities for simplification, consolidation, and standardization within existing systems.
- Facilitate workshops to clarify domain ownership, decision-making rights, and system interfaces.
- Create practical models like capability maps and responsibility matrices that can be utilized by leadership and teams.
- Analyze end-to-end data flows to identify bottlenecks and clarify responsibilities.
- Establish stable interface patterns and data contracts to guide engineering teams.
- Make architectural decisions regarding systems of record and integration patterns.
- Validate architectural choices through hands-on work, including building prototypes and engaging with APIs and data systems.
- Lead the architecture decision-making process, ensuring effective communication and follow-through on critical decisions.
- Identify and resolve blockers and dependencies across teams, enhancing overall workflow.
- Stay informed about AI/LLM technologies and their potential applications within the enterprise, guiding responsible adoption.
What success looks like
First 90 days
- Deliver a clear overview of priority enterprise journeys, detailing domains, owners, systems, and risks.
- Establish a regular cadence for architecture discussions with key stakeholders.
- Present an initial target-state architecture and action plan for a prioritized area.
- Gain familiarity with DoubleVerify's adtech context and relevant commercial data models.
Within 6 months
- Achieve consensus on ownership and interface boundaries for critical business domains.
- Implement practical architecture standards that teams actively use.
- Show a measurable impact on a cross-functional initiative through improved design or decision-making processes.
Within 12 months
- Enhance clarity around domain ownership and system boundaries across the organization.
- Minimize ambiguity and friction in core business processes.
- Establish yourself as a trusted source for architectural guidance and technical support.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture or related fields with a broad enterprise focus.
- Proven track record of translating vision into execution with measurable results.
- Strong understanding of business processes, data architecture, application architecture, and integrations.
- Hands-on technical skills, including coding and working with APIs and data systems.
- Familiarity with modern enterprise platforms and integration patterns.
- Experience navigating both large third-party applications and proprietary systems.
- Excellent communication skills for creating clear architectural documentation and presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to align stakeholders and manage conflicts constructively.
- A proactive approach to risk management and decision-making in cross-functional contexts.
- Knowledge of AI/LLM technologies and their practical applications in a business environment.
