What you'll do
- Engineer new features in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver measurable product improvements.
- Refactor existing code modules systematically to maintain and improve the long-term health of the codebase.
- Design solutions for complex real-time data synchronization and transfer challenges inherent in logistics systems.
- Expand the capabilities of current APIs and build new endpoints to support evolving product requirements.
- Author and execute unit tests to ensure code quality and prevent regressions during iterative development cycles.
- Adhere strictly to current industry standards for Android development, including best practices for architecture and security.

- Participate in code reviews to share knowledge and uphold the team's engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues by analyzing logs and diagnostics to identify root causes quickly.
- Contribute to the definition of technical specifications that align with product roadmaps and engineering goals.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on Android development techniques and architectural decisions.
- Optimize application performance to ensure a seamless user experience across a range of device configurations.
Requirements
- Hold a B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or an equivalent field from an accredited institution.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of professional industry experience in software development.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Android SDK development within a product-focused, fast-paced environment.
- Show a strong understanding of systems architecture principles and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Have hands-on experience with Android testing frameworks and established best practices for quality assurance.
- Provide evidence of a proven track record in building, releasing, and iterating on mobile applications successfully.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion when evaluating technical options and making critical decisions.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and constraints.

Practical notes
Compensation for this role includes base salary and equity grants. Base salary ranges by level: I4 ($130,600 to $192,000), I5 ($159,800 to $235,000), and I6 ($193,800 to $285,000). Additional benefits comprise 401(k) matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, disability and life insurance, mental health programs, family-forming assistance, 11 paid holidays, flexible paid time off, and 80 hours of annual sick leave.
