About the role
In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for leading and expanding the Foundations Technical Program Management (TPM) team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of TPM within the Engineering Operations division. Your role will encompass the management of essential initiatives across various domains, including data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and developer platforms, ensuring that our core engineering systems maintain their stability and efficiency.

What you'll do
- Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of exceptional Technical Program Managers to foster their professional growth and enhance team performance.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product leadership to formulate and implement strategic roadmaps for foundational services that align with company goals.
- Supervise programs that prioritize reliability, security, compliance, capacity planning, and the execution of large-scale migrations to improve system performance.
- Act as the primary escalation point for intricate, high-stakes technical programs and their interdependencies, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Develop and implement effective frameworks for tracking Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and managing resource allocation efficiently.
- Communicate technical progress, challenges, and trade-offs to various stakeholders within the organization to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to drive initiatives that enhance the overall engineering ecosystem.
- Analyze and assess project risks, providing proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues before they escalate.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Technical Program Management or Engineering leadership role, preferably within infrastructure or platform environments.
- At least 2 years of hands-on management experience leading teams of TPMs or engineers, demonstrating effective leadership skills.
- A solid technical foundation in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure is crucial for success in this role.
- Proficiency in reviewing technical specifications and assessing architectural trade-offs to make informed decisions.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

- The compensation package for this role includes a base salary range between $231,200 and $340,000 USD, along with equity grants as part of the overall remuneration.
- Employees will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k) matching, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, and medical, dental, and vision coverage. Additionally, flexible paid time off is offered, along with 80 hours of sick leave annually.
