About the role
DoorDash is seeking an Associate Manager to oversee the marketing product portfolio for our In-Store business, including SevenRooms. This role owns the end-to-end strategy for Email, SMS, and WhatsApp marketing tools that connect directly with restaurant partners. You will act as a central point of contact between Product, Go-To-Market, and merchant teams to manage the full lifecycle of these products. From initial testing and pilot programs to global launch and ongoing commercial optimization, you will drive initiatives from concept to scale. The position requires a strategic operator who balances data rigor with creative problem-solving to unlock revenue opportunities. You will ensure that marketing products meet compliance standards while delivering clear value to both merchants and the business. This role is critical in shaping how DoorDash supports merchants in building direct customer relationships through messaging and engagement tools.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Manage the end-to-end strategy for marketing SKUs, covering pricing, packaging, legal terms, and sales positioning to ensure commercial viability.
- Identify and size new market opportunities by conducting competitive research against platforms like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Attentive, Me & You, Bikky, Thanx, Paytronix, Popmenu, and Fishbowl.
- Coordinate cross-functional workflows across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Legal to meet project timelines and maintain alignment on objectives.
- Monitor channel compliance and deliverability, including CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and Meta messaging policies, to reduce risk and protect brand integrity.
- Build dashboards and KPIs to track product adoption, revenue growth, and channel performance, providing clear visibility into outcomes.
- Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership, turning insights into strategic decisions.
- Partner with Sales to develop enablement materials and playbooks that help teams sell marketing products effectively.
- Own the configuration and optimization of email, SMS, and WhatsApp flows to improve engagement and conversion rates over time.
- Collaborate with engineering during testing phases to validate product functionality and user experience before broader release.
- Drive post-launch reviews to assess performance, surface learnings, and iterate on product features for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience in strategy & operations, consulting, project management, or product/GTM strategy, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
- Background in high-growth technology, SaaS, or hospitality environments, demonstrating comfort with fast-paced change and evolving priorities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling, including the ability to interpret metrics, forecast impact, and assess trade-offs.
- Ability to manage complex projects autonomously and influence stakeholders without direct authority, using persuasion and clarity of purpose.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on structured, first-principles thinking, enabling you to break down problems and communicate clearly.
- Willingness to work within US work authorization requirements and support compliance with regional regulations in assigned locations.
- Capacity to travel as needed for business purposes within assigned regions and support team collaboration in person when required.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of merchant and customer data in all aspects of the role.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with marketing or messaging platforms such as Iterable, Braze, Klaviyo, or Attentive, which can accelerate onboarding and impact.
- Practical understanding of email, SMS, or WhatsApp marketing compliance and deliverability, reducing friction in campaign execution.
- Experience in hospitality tech, B2B2C models, or consumer-facing applications, providing context for restaurant partner needs.
Practical notes
- This is a full-time position based in the United States, with work location options in New York, NY; Miami, FL; and Washington D.C.
