What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices.
• Manage and optimize server environments, including physical and virtual servers, to ensure high availability and performance.
• Oversee network architecture, including LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations, to facilitate seamless connectivity across all company locations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure needs and provide technical guidance on system integrations and upgrades.
• Monitor system performance and conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with security standards.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and training purposes.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex infrastructure issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools that can enhance the efficiency and security of our IT infrastructure.
• Mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring that robust backup and recovery solutions are in place.
• Engage with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts and manage relationships, ensuring optimal service delivery.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure that Db Group remains at the forefront of IT infrastructure innovation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Strong knowledge of server operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux distributions, with hands-on experience in administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewalls, with experience in network management tools.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) is highly desirable.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation of routine tasks and system management.
• Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks, with experience in implementing security measures across IT infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, or equivalent are a plus.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) for infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks to enhance operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of database management systems and experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in server management tools and monitoring solutions (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix).
• Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Experience with collaboration tools and project management software to facilitate teamwork and project tracking.
• Strong analytical skills to assess system performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.

• This position is based in Mriehel, Malta, and may require occasional travel to other company locations.
