What you'll do
- Conduct thorough audits of daily revenue reports to ensure all income is accurately captured and recorded in the financial system.
- Collaborate with the front office, food and beverage, and other departments to verify that all revenue streams are accounted for.
- Prepare detailed reports on discrepancies found during audits and present findings to management for corrective action.
- Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in revenue reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies, recommending enhancements where necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Participate in monthly financial close processes, ensuring all income is reconciled and discrepancies are resolved.
- Provide support during external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Train and mentor junior staff on income auditing processes and best practices to foster a culture of accuracy and accountability.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with department heads to facilitate effective communication regarding financial matters.
- Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline auditing processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in income auditing or a similar financial role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with hotel management systems is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey financial information clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and professionalism when dealing with sensitive financial information.
