What you'll do

• Design and implement cloud-based architectures that are robust, scalable, and secure, ensuring optimal performance for our applications.
• Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and product managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and infrastructure, ensuring rapid delivery of features and updates.
• Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage, implementing cost-effective solutions while maintaining high availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and services, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
• Implement security best practices across the cloud environment, including identity and access management, data encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct performance testing and capacity planning to ensure the cloud infrastructure can handle expected loads and growth.
• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on our platform and recommending improvements.
• Document processes, architectures, and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration between development and operations, promoting a DevSecOps culture.
• Engage in troubleshooting and debugging sessions, providing support to other teams when necessary to resolve complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud platform engineering or a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, with experience in developing cloud-native applications.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate cloud resource provisioning.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and performance.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers, as they pertain to cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Trello for project management.
• Understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and their integration with cloud applications.
• Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company.
• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
