What you'll do
- Design and implement cloud-based architectures that are robust, scalable, and secure, ensuring optimal performance for our applications.
- Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and product managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and infrastructure, ensuring rapid delivery of features and updates.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage, implementing cost-effective solutions while maintaining high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and services, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Implement security best practices across the cloud environment, including identity and access management, data encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct performance testing and capacity planning to ensure the cloud infrastructure can handle expected loads and growth.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends, evaluating their potential impact on our platform and recommending improvements.
- Document processes, architectures, and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration between development and operations, promoting a DevSecOps culture.
- Engage in troubleshooting and debugging sessions, providing support to other teams when necessary to resolve complex technical challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in cloud platform engineering or a similar role, with a strong focus on cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go, with experience in developing cloud-native applications.
- Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to automate cloud resource provisioning.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and performance.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers, as they pertain to cloud environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Trello for project management.
- Understanding of database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL, and their integration with cloud applications.
- Previous experience in a startup environment or fast-paced tech company.
- Relevant certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect).
