About the role
You will own the end to end technical strategy for customer implementation programs from initial discovery through final launch. You will translate complex business requirements into a concrete technical roadmap for the Datadog platform. You will design and guide the execution of deployment architectures that meet strict security and compliance standards. You will lead co development working sessions with client stakeholders to ensure alignment and success. You will act as a trusted advisor to both customers and internal teams throughout the entire engagement. You will manage the operational health of multiple implementation projects concurrently. You will collaborate closely with Customer Success and Technical Account Management to drive long term value realization.

What you'll do
Design and guide execution of Datadog implementations, including gathering requirements, building technical architecture, and supporting deployment and launch.
Guide customer onboarding through co development working sessions and assist when they run into roadblocks or blockers.
Write automation and design architecture for deployment templates to streamline repeatable implementation patterns.
Manage the operation of implementation projects, including timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications.
Collaborate with other teams, including Customer Success, Technical Account Management, and Sales to deliver an exceptional onboarding experience.
Perform discovery sessions to understand customer environments, constraints, and business objectives.
Develop proof of concept implementations that validate architecture decisions and demonstrate platform value.
Maintain and evolve implementation playbooks and technical documentation for internal reuse.
Support the creation of cost estimates, effort assessments, and project plans for scoping purposes.
Represent Datadog in professional engagements, ensuring that solutions adhere to industry best practices and security standards.
Provide technical leadership to less experienced team members through mentorship and code review.
Continuously improve implementation methodologies based on feedback and lessons learned from completed projects.
Requirements
Experience designing and delivering technical solutions for DevOps Monitoring or architecture systems in production environments.
Hands on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and compute technologies including EC2, serverless, VMware, VMs, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience with configuration management, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD tools, including Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines, and similar tools.
Ability to write scripts and code using one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, and .NET.
Background in security operations, including Security Operations Center management, SIEM tooling like Splunk Professional Services, and designing or supporting zero trust networking architectures.
A successful track record with at least 5 years of experience as an Architect or Consultant within a professional services team.
Able to sit for up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites as part of project requirements.
Able to travel via automobile, train, or air for up to 30 percent of the time to support project delivery across locations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non technical audiences.
Experience working in fast paced, collaborative, and consultative customer facing roles.
Commitment to following Datadog processes and quality standards for implementation delivery.
Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and project scopes in a dynamic professional services environment.
Nice to have
Preferred experience with observability platforms, monitoring solutions, and modern application performance management tools.
Familiarity with logging, metrics, tracing, and security information and event management concepts.
Knowledge of automation frameworks and templating languages used in infrastructure deployments.
Understanding of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements relevant to monitored environments.
Experience mentoring junior consultants and contributing to internal knowledge sharing programs.
