About the role
The is responsible for driving security sales initiatives by acting as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers. This role owns the technical validation and demonstration of Datadog's security capabilities, ensuring that customer requirements are fully understood and addressed through compelling solution narratives. You will collaborate directly with sales teams and product leadership to shape the go-to-market strategy for security offerings and influence the direction of product development based on real-world customer feedback. The position requires deep expertise in security operations and cloud technologies to articulate how Datadog's platform solves complex security challenges. You will be a key partner in proof-of-value exercises, ensuring that technical stakeholders see the clear value and operational benefits of adopting the platform. This role is critical in building the confidence needed for enterprise customers to move forward with security initiatives. You will represent Datadog in the field, working closely with customers to align their security posture with the capabilities of the Datadog Security Monitoring solution.

What you'll do
Partner with the Enterprise Security Sales team to drive the adoption of Datadog's security offering within strategic target accounts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and analyze security requirements across Datadog's diverse enterprise customer base.
Conduct detailed product demonstrations and technical presentations that highlight the capabilities and benefits of Datadog's security solutions.
Provide in-depth technical expertise and support throughout the entire sales cycle, including during complex customer evaluations and proof-of-value initiatives.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Datadog's security products, evolving industry trends, and emerging vulnerabilities.
Assist in the creation of technical proposals, business case documentation, and other security-focused sales materials.
Work closely with product management and engineering teams to translate customer feedback into actionable product insights and influence the development roadmap.
Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and virtual webinars to effectively promote Datadog's security solutions to technical audiences.
Perform detailed technical assessments of customer environments to identify security gaps and map Datadog's coverage against existing toolchains.
Serve as the primary technical resource for the sales team during the discovery and qualification phases of security-related deals.
Demonstrate the integration capabilities of Datadog security features with existing customer infrastructure and third-party tools.
Champion the value of security monitoring and observability by articulating risk reduction and operational efficiency improvements to stakeholders.
Support the development of security-focused sales playbooks and battle cards based on competitive intelligence and win-loss analysis.
Engage in continuous learning of security frameworks and compliance requirements relevant to enterprise customers.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Deep experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and associated detection pipelines.
Extensive background in Security Operations Center (SOC) workflows, including alert triage, investigation, and response procedures.
Hands-on expertise with endpoint security solutions such as EDR and MDR technologies.
Practical experience with the deployment, configuration, and tuning of security controls within live customer production environments.
Strong command of security principles, best practices, and security architecture design patterns.
Demonstrated knowledge of developer and DevOps ecosystems along with application security best practices.
Proficiency with major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, and the security tools native to those environments.
Excellent presentation and communication skills necessary to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proven problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think critically and creatively in high-stakes sales situations.
Willingness to travel up to 30% to engage with customers at their locations and to participate in relevant industry events.
Ability to quickly learn and explain sophisticated security technologies and concepts to diverse stakeholders.
