What you'll do
- Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective clients to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Review and verify client documentation, including identification and financial records, to assess risk levels accurately.
- Collaborate with various departments, including legal and risk management, to ensure a cohesive approach to client onboarding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and industry best practices to inform onboarding processes.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on onboarding activities and compliance metrics to senior management.
- Identify potential compliance risks during the onboarding process and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of onboarding policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Participate in training sessions for staff on compliance-related topics to promote a culture of compliance within the organization.
- Respond to inquiries from clients regarding compliance requirements and provide guidance on necessary documentation.
- Monitor ongoing client relationships to ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements post-onboarding.
- Support audits and regulatory examinations by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to client onboarding activities.
- Utilize compliance software and tools to streamline the onboarding process and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, law, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related area, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to client onboarding, including AML and KYC regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex information and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex compliance information clearly.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
Nice to have
- Experience with compliance software or tools that facilitate client onboarding processes.
- Knowledge of international compliance regulations and practices, particularly in the fintech sector.
- Certification in compliance or risk management (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) is a plus.
