Actual base salaries are determined based on candidate-specific factors such as experience, skillset, and location, as well as applicable local pay requirements. Cresta is actively hiring for this role in Romania, the United States, and Canada.
What you'll do

- Architect message streaming layers capable of handling audio and text while adhering to strict latency goals.
- Craft reusable API surfaces using gRPC, REST, and WebSocket to serve both internal and external consumers.
- Optimize query patterns and storage layouts to safeguard throughput under peak loads.
- Implement deployment pipelines that align with Kubernetes workflows and cloud operational expectations.
- Audit cross-channel customer experiences and translate customer outcomes into technical trade-offs.
- Champion technical ownership of critical platform components while mentoring peers on best practices.
- Partner with product teams to deliver features that support revenue and efficiency metrics.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, combined with ten years of backend engineering experience.
- Design and maintain resilient APIs across protocols such as gRPC, REST, and WebSocket.
- Process real-time streaming audio and video reliably at high throughput with minimal delay.
- Demonstrate expertise in high-performance schema design and indexing for demanding query workloads.
- Operate containerized services on Kubernetes and use major cloud platforms in production environments.
- Write robust tests and observability signals that clarify system behavior and surface issues early.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on priorities and constraints.
- Maintain a strong focus on performance, correctness, and operational stability in production systems.
