About the role
You will own the end-to-end management and administration of the macOS and Windows ecosystems that power our global workforce. You will design and implement identity and access controls using Okta to secure seamless employee access across all applications. You will leverage device management platforms to enforce security policies and streamline the lifecycle of all company Mac devices. You will architect and maintain automation using scripting and serverless functions to eliminate manual toil and improve reliability. You will lead the design of integrations that connect multiple SaaS platforms into a unified workflow. You will establish and enforce security protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and protect company data. You will provide expert level technical support to resolve complex issues for staff worldwide. You will lead IT projects from conception to delivery, driving system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.

What you'll do
- System Administration: Lead the management and maintenance of macOS and Windows environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability across global endpoints.
- Identity and Access Management: Oversee and configure Okta for seamless single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all enterprise applications.
- Device Management: Utilize Kandji for the deployment, management, and security of all company Mac devices, implementing best practices for device lifecycle management and integrating Microsoft Intune policy management.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain advanced scripts and AWS Lambda functions to automate routine tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
- Systems Integration: Design and implement integrations between various SaaS platforms and tools to streamline workflows and improve system interoperability.
- Security Compliance: Establish and enforce security protocols to protect company data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support to staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues promptly across a distributed workforce.
- Project Leadership: Lead IT projects from conception to completion, including system upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new technologies and automations.
- Cross-Platform Support: Experience in use of remote management tools to support a hybrid workforce across multiple operating systems and devices.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Partner closely with engineering and operations teams to align IT initiatives with business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
- Cloud Operations: Manage and optimize cloud-based services such as Google Workspace to support productivity, collaboration, and secure data synchronization.
- Hardware and Infrastructure: Oversee the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and office infrastructure, including network equipment, to ensure seamless IT operations.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role, preferably within a startup environment.
- macOS Expertise: Extensive technical knowledge of macOS software and hardware, with a proven track record of supporting macOS in enterprise environments.
- Windows Operating systems: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Intune, application deployment, device management, and security hardening for Windows endpoints.
- Device Management: Advanced proficiency in administering Kandji, focusing on support and device policies, including integration with identity and access management solutions like Okta.
- Cloud Solutions: Strong experience with cloud-based services, including Okta for identity management and Google Workspace for productivity and collaboration, demonstrating a cloud-first approach to IT infrastructure.
- Scripting and Automation: Advanced scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, Go, Powershell, Terraform: applied to automate tasks, enhance scalability, and deliver efficient, secure results.
- Apple Deployment Programs: In-depth understanding of Apple's Device Enrollment Program (DEP), Volume Purchasing Programs, and Apple Business Manager, including integration with Kandji, Kolide and Crowdstrike to streamline device deployment and management.
- Hardware and Infrastructure: Extensive experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and office infrastructure, including network equipment, to ensure seamless IT operations.
- Collaboration and Independence: Proven ability to work both individually and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, adapting to the dynamic needs of a startup setting.
- Cross-Platform Support: Experience in use of remote management tools to support a hybrid workforce across multiple operating systems and devices.
- Security and Compliance: Demonstrated commitment to establishing and enforcing security protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
