About the role

This position is for a full-stack engineer to join the AI Integration Team, which supports Commure's core products, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Ambient. The team ensures smooth data exchange between the platform and over 40 Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). You will fetch and write critical patient data, directly impacting care delivery. In this role, you will own the design and execution of integration pipelines that connect our platform with external healthcare ecosystems. You will leverage advanced LLM technology to automate the analysis of electronic health records and transform unstructured clinical data into actionable insights. Your work will close the loop between product strategy and technical implementation, ensuring that integration features meet both engineering standards and clinical workflows. You will be expected to mentor junior engineers on best practices for secure and scalable system design. Ultimately, your contributions will shape the reliability and performance of healthcare data exchange across the platform.

What you'll do

• Create and deploy integration solutions for our platform and external healthcare systems, focusing on performance and reliability.
• Use advanced LLM technology to automate the analysis of electronic health records.
• Work with product, engineering, and healthcare teams to define integration needs and technical approaches.
• Guide the technical direction of the integration platform by suggesting architectural and tool enhancements.
• Manage integration workflows from initial design through deployment and ongoing monitoring.
• Identify and resolve performance issues and troubleshoot problems in production environments.
• Ensure all integration work meets healthcare compliance and security standards like HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR.
• Implement best practices for integration development, including testing, error handling, and continuous integration.
• Partner with DevOps and QA teams to set up monitoring and alerting for system health.
• Stay informed on healthcare technology trends and apply innovations to improve system capabilities.
• Participate in agile development cycles, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and ensure high-quality data ingestion.
• Develop and maintain APIs that enable seamless communication between Commure's services and third-party EMRs.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain a high standard of code quality across the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Skilled in frontend languages such as Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
• Skilled in backend languages such as Python, Go, or C++.
• Experience with Git, GCP / AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, relational and non-relational databases, and monitoring tools.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement end-to-end solutions and make sound architectural decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities for a fast-paced setting.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship for this role.

These requirements will be attested to upon hire and annually. This role is based in Mountain View, Canada, and operates on a full-time, hybrid schedule. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship. The compensation range for this position is $130K - $190K base salary, plus equity. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks and verification of identity and work authorization documents.
