About the role
You will own the technical narrative for our most strategic customers from the first discovery call through to production deployment and expansion. You will act as the primary technical liaison between our customers and our engineering and product teams, ensuring that implementation plans align with both customer ambitions and our platform capabilities. You will leverage generative AI to design and build internal automation that streamlines onboarding, support, and product operations. You will synthesize complex customer feedback into clear product requirements that guide the roadmap. You will manage expectations across engineering and customers to maintain alignment on timelines and deliverables. You will ensure every day operations adhere to banking policies, risk standards, and regulatory obligations. You will escalate risks and issues to management promptly to protect the integrity of our solutions and our customers.

What you'll do
- Support the technical relationship with our customers across pre-sales, implementation, onboarding, and support while maintaining a high standard of technical accuracy and empathy.
- Assist with the implementation and delivery of strategic cross-functional projects with guidance from senior team members, coordinating efforts across engineering, operations, and compliance.
- Leverage AI to build internal tooling and processes to address operational bottlenecks, reducing manual effort and improving consistency across customer workflows.
- Collect and organize product feedback from customer interactions, helping to identify gaps and translate insights into actionable product requirement documents.
- Learn to manage roadmap expectations with our engineering team and customers, balancing competing priorities while maintaining clear and timely communication.
- Perform day-to-day activities consistent with safe and sound banking practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring all procedures are followed rigorously.
- Help identify, assess, and manage risk by adhering to policies and procedures established by the Bank, and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Partner with sales, business development, and customer success teams to expand customer activity on Column and drive measurable growth in product usage.
- Design, document, and validate integration patterns and API usage examples that enable faster and more reliable customer implementations.
- Contribute to the technical documentation and architecture diagrams that support both internal teams and external customers using our platform.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a technical or technical-adjacent role that involves customer interaction, product sense, or implementation ownership.
- Strong customer-facing presence with the ability to build trust and credibility with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills that enable you to explain complex technical concepts in accessible terms.
- Problem-solving aptitude and curiosity that drives you to understand how systems work and to explore creative solutions under constraints.
- Humble attitude and eagerness to roll up your sleeves, whether the work involves debugging an integration, writing documentation, or supporting a live incident.
- Basic technical skills with potential to grow in coding, including comfort with JavaScript or Python, and the ability to learn SQL for querying data.
- Interest in the financial services industry and an understanding of how banks, infrastructure, and regulation shape product decisions, with prior knowledge being helpful but not required.
- Willingness to adhere to strict policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements that govern banking operations and data security.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with financial services products, banking infrastructure, or payments systems that can accelerate customer onboarding and solution design.
- Experience working with APIs, integration patterns, and developer platforms in fintech or technology environments.
- Background in product management, data analysis, or business operations where you have synthesized feedback into roadmap decisions.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, regulated environment where agility must be balanced with risk management and compliance.
Practical notes
- This role is based in our Presidio office in San Francisco and follows a four-day, in-person schedule.
- You will report directly to Column's Head of Solution Engineering.
- Compensation packages at Column include base salary, equity, and benefits, with new hire offers based on experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
- The annual US base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $200,000, adjusted for location within the designated talent markets.
- Equity grants are provided in alignment with Column's standard policy and are subject to vesting over time.
- Benefits eligibility begins on the date of hire, and specific plan details, coverage levels, and eligibility criteria apply.
- This position requires authorization to work in the United States, and candidates must be able to prove employment eligibility on forms I-9.

- Travel is not required for this position.
- The position is full-time (exempt) and does not require on-call duties.
