The Emerging Markets Lead for Uzbekistan will play a role in spearheading the launch of a new banking product tailored for the Uzbek market. What you'll do

• Lead the comprehensive strategy for identifying and establishing banking partnerships across various international markets, with a focus on Uzbekistan.
• Serve as the primary liaison for both new and existing partners, engaging in regular face-to-face meetings and representing the company at industry events to strengthen relationships.
• Oversee the entire deal lifecycle, from initial outreach to contract finalization, while collaborating closely with internal teams such as Legal, Product, and Compliance to ensure alignment.
• Conduct thorough analyses of local regulatory changes, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to inform and refine regional business strategies.
• Develop a deep understanding of the correspondent banking landscape and actively build a professional network within local fintech and banking communities.
• Design and implement standardized operational frameworks for onboarding partners and managing accounts over the long term, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
• Monitor market trends and emerging opportunities to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge in the region.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to create awareness and promote the new banking product effectively within the target market.
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities within the Uzbekistan market.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging creative solutions to complex challenges.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team performance and professional development.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in areas such as growth, partnerships, or business operations, preferably within leading consulting or technology firms.
• At least 4 years of direct business experience in Uzbekistan, demonstrating a strong understanding of the local market dynamics.
• Fluency in both Uzbek and Russian, with the ability to communicate effectively in a bilingual environment.
• A proven track record of successfully closing high-value deals and managing relationships with senior executives and stakeholders.
• Strong strategic thinking capabilities combined with a hands-on approach to executing business initiatives and building new lines of business.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple functions and teams effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience in the financial technology sector, particularly in banking or payment solutions.
• Familiarity with the regulatory environment in Uzbekistan and the broader Central Asian region.
• Previous experience working in a startup or high-growth environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
