About the role

You will design, build, and operate the systems that safeguard Collibra's data, infrastructure, and customers on a daily basis. The role requires deep technical ownership where you embed security controls directly into the platforms that power the business. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to architect resilient systems and implement zero-trust principles across the environment. This position demands hands-on engineering excellence focused on automation, detection, and continuous improvement of security processes. You will proactively identify risks and drive measurable improvements to the organization's defense posture through scalable solutions.

What you'll do

Design and implement secure architectures across cloud environments, embedding zero-trust principles and identity-based access controls to protect critical assets.

Manage threat detection, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and remediate risks proactively before they can be exploited.

Lead incident response efforts and leverage threat intelligence to detect, contain, and prevent evolving cyber threats across the infrastructure.

Ensure compliance with global security standards including ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CIS, OWASP, SOC 2, and CSA while continuously improving security policies and controls.

Support internal and external security audits by providing thorough documentation, evidence, and artifacts to validate control effectiveness.

Operate and maintain Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms to monitor, detect, and analyze security events in near real time.

Utilize Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools to investigate alerts, perform forensic analysis, and drive remediation activities across endpoints.

Implement and manage vulnerability management programs to track, prioritize, and remediate security findings across the technology stack.

Employ identity and access management principles to enforce least-privilege access and protect privileged accounts across systems and applications.

Apply data analysis and data science concepts using tools such as SQL and Python to investigate security telemetry and derive actionable insights.

Leverage infrastructure as code (IAC) practices to automate security configurations and ensure consistent deployment of secure environments.

Evaluate and integrate security tools and technologies to improve detection capabilities and streamline operational workflows.

Collaborate with development teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and support secure software delivery practices.

Document security processes, architectures, and incident response procedures to ensure clarity, repeatability, and continuous improvement.

Contribute to the security engineering roadmap by proposing improvements, automating manual tasks, and driving innovation in security operations.

Requirements

You must bring 5+ years of experience in Information Security, Security Engineering, or a closely related technical field to this role.

You must demonstrate a strong understanding of CI/CD workflows and infrastructure as code (IAC) practices and tooling.

You must have hands-on experience securing cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure in production settings.

You must have practical experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and incident response tools in operational environments.

You must possess a strong understanding of network and application security concepts, identity and access management, and encryption best practices.

You must have working knowledge of data analysis and data science concepts and tooling, including SQL and Python, to analyze security data effectively.

You must hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent related work experience that demonstrates relevant knowledge.

Because this role supports the US government, it is required that this candidate be a US citizen who resides on US soil.

You must demonstrate proven proficiency in leveraging AI tools such as Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT, or Copilot to solve real-world business challenges and drive measurable outcomes.

A bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience is required to meet the educational expectations for this role.
