Senior Software Engineer, Onboarding
Job description
About the role
You will design and maintain the backend infrastructure responsible for user registration and identity verification across the entire Coinbase ecosystem. This role places you at the intersection of compliance and scalability where your work directly enables global market entry. You will own the critical systems that validate user identity while ensuring the platform remains reliable and performant under heavy load. The position requires a deep partnership with product and design teams to translate regulatory requirements into robust technical specifications. You will be responsible for defining the architecture that allows Coinbase to deploy new products quickly without compromising on security or operational integrity. Your daily work will involve making key decisions about data flow, service boundaries, and failure modes in mission-critical pathways. You will have the opportunity to shape industry best practices for onboarding systems in the blockchain and financial services sector. This is a chance to build infrastructure that impacts millions of users as they enter the digital asset economy.
